Smiles. Have you ever been in a hurry to get to a location and everything on your way that day and at that time, just seems to be slowing you down. And just all against you from getting there early? 💭
I was at this point, on a particular Friday morning. I was excited I was going to get to work early and in time. I even took a motorbike as against a Tricycle, hence I paid higher. I did this in a bid to be able to get to the next bus stop earlier. As I walked along the bus stop, I saw a couple of buses going along the destination I was heading.
Some called out to me. One in particular even stopped and it was almost filled up. So it seemed like a good decision because it won’t have to be making a lot of stops. But he turned me off by calling a higher price, so I walked away and entered another which wasn’t filled up at that time. The previous bus left us and moved on, while we were still at that bus stop. Because the conductor was waiting for other passengers going in the same direction.
To cut the long story short. We passed the other bus that had left some minutes before ours. As his route had a long line of hectic traffic while ours was free as it was on the express lane.
I smiled. You know why? I didn’t expect it. I so didn’t even know that there will be traffic on that lane considering the road was free up until that point. So yeah, I got to work early. 🤩🙌🏼
Bringing this home. What is that decision that seem like a bad choice because it isn’t checking all your boxes currently? Or maybe it feels like it’s a bad one just because your expectation for an earlier time to achieve it isn’t forthcoming or looking like it, just yet?
Look beyond the other “moves” or seemingly great or speedy decisions, and trust that Abba will bring His promises over your life to pass.
One thing that I want you to be sure of in this decision making journey is that “am I sure that this is the step He is leading me to take?”
Once you are sure He is the one leading you to take that step. Be rest assured that His word is synonymous to Him. His word is God and God is the Word. (John 1:1)
His admonition to you and I today and always is that we should know that He will get us to our final destination in peace and in His right timing and with His right and graceful processes!
“He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP
You are not alone in that journey and ABBA’s got you. 💯❤️

His promises still stands, will you let Him guide you through it?

Filtered by His love, it only happens FOR us.” (Lane Martin) What Lane said when he was 17 years old remains true, even when the thing that happens appears bad in the moment. The key is for looking not to get what we want, whether that be a bus that passes another, or even getting to work on time. But we need to look at whatever happens and ask, “Father, what do YOU want me to do in response to this?”

I will always remember what my professor said while teaching Genesis. He place a line of Abraham’s journey’s over a map of the bible lands. Abraham’s journey zig zagged all over. My professor said, “God does not always lead in a straight line.”

God has out did Himself in this areas. Sometimes we do make what seems like a bad choice and He totally covers for us,out of His loving heart. I love this story. one thing about living in another country is traveling is always hassel until one gives into it. When we lived in Bolivia they have a hook and go without even looking way of getting around busy streets. If one hesitates and only hooks and does not go, you can be waiting a long time before you get another chance to do. In the US we try to be polite and would think Bolivia way of getting around is not polite and if we had stayed in that mindset we would still waiting at some intersection. But, we honked the horn and went, trusting others to stop if they started a the same time. It took courage to get around and Bolivians love bravery in all form so we became respected for adapting to their ways. Love your story, and by the way, where do you live that you understand doing with electricity at times???

Yep, I am sure you understand limited electricity at times. We also lived in Papua New Guinea and had less electricity until our support center bought its own relay for our generator. One has to learn to go with the flow unless the flow is going against Jesus. I am amazed at the wisdom that comes from someone so young. You are a gem to read.

Thank you for sharing this encouragement. Sometimes, we tend to be angry at delays but delays are God’s hand at work to keep us to the path where we need to be. It is also His way of protecting us. You remind me today to be still in God even if I experience delays in my life,
