Recently, I was discussing with a friend and the person did tell me how growing old was a bit scary and all. And trust me, I have heard such comments a couple of times and even me; there were times (a day or some weeks) after I have Celebrated my birthday that I am still yet to accept the fact that I am actually a year older and after a while I would do. At first, it’s still like: am in a mirage or something different that I really don’t know what to do in this regard or how to handle it. 
  I’m sure as you are reading, you might have had your share of this same fright, cos you think where you are now wasn’t what you anticipated years before now. But yeah! You are in it now and you are trying to deal with the whole situation. 
But, despite the fact that we have had these frights and all, growing up is needed. In fact it’s a key part of our being. 

  Recently, a friend called my attention to the fact that we don’t like to be asked “How old are you?” and a lot of us even go to the extreme of forging our documents just cos they are not ready to deal with all that comes with such an age.

Yes, it is okay to feel that way – where you are wondering: so now what is it that i’m to do?….. But it’s not okay to dwell so much in those fears that we then not see the blessings God has packed in that age for you or His blessings attached to each day in it for you. 

  Growth is something that is beautiful and if we don’t see it that way we might just end up being lost – you know increasing age wise or in years (which is only numbers) and not you actually growing up as God’s intentions are for us all. 

  Yes! Growing up comes with more duties, responsibilities and all you can think of. But the grace needed by you to do it all, to accomplish His plans for you at such a time is already available even before your procreation. So stop being scared of what’s gonna happen in the age or year you just began, instead grow more in God and trust me, our paths shines up more and more – Proverbs 4:18.
  God has given you that age you are in now as a blessing, and not as a curse. You might not have all you think you need at the moment but you do have all that you Need…… Hallelujah!!. Yes!, you have all you need. Over time, I realised we don’t appreciate God’s act and dealings in our lives cos we are mostly driven by our wants and God is concerned with our needs!! Cos He knows you more than you think you do know yourself. Accept the new age you are in and start living up the potentials in it for you. You have all you need, trust me you have all you need!!. 

  Lastly, I want us to picture our growth as humans; imagine if we all never grew past the toddler stage of growth where our mode of communication was us babbling and that was it. No work, no leader, we were all just the same and not increasing in anyway. Trust me, that doesn’t look so nice to me and would have been a boring (just us all babbling) and starving (Cos we can’t even fend for ourselves talk less of others) world.

There is so much beauty in growing up, so appreciate it and live in the fullness of all He 👆 has equipped you with for the year or journey ahead.
