🌌🌌 Norms and Trends – Is it really worth it? πŸ’ πŸ’Β

While I went on with my devotion some days back, I came across a verse & it’s not my first time I must say reading that verse. It gives me so much concern as to why our present age believes otherwise in regards to this. πŸ’
Let’s look at the verse together –

Don’t be drunk with wine, which will ruin your life, but be filled with the Spirit.

Eph. 5:18 ERV

Why would we want to live in so much deceit of ourselves calling what the Word, which we claim is our manual to life and living not totally true or something brought from the Old Testament into the new?. When the truth is it’s “the” Word unto us.

I have heard a lot of comments about this I must say – “It’s just 1%” or just “5%” & in my mind I’m like really!. If it was “just” maybe the Bible might have made an exception of that, but really it categorically told us not to!.

Personally, I’m not a fan of it I must say & to throw one’s sanity off balance in the process of flowing with the trend is really disheartening!. I wonder why the mother of King Lemuel will advice a king not to. Let’s look at the verse together.πŸ‘‡πŸ’
Lemuel, it is not wise for kings to drink wine. It is not wise for rulers to want beer. They may drink too much and forget what the law says. Then they might take away the rights of the poor. Give beer to

people without hope. Give wine to those who are in trouble. Let them drink to forget their troubles. Let them forget they are poor.

Prov. 31:4‭-‬7 ERV

Please note these verses – “give the wine to those who are in trouble & beer to those who have no hope”. Wow!, these are deep words of advice. I believe we still have a hope, isn’t that why we are still living?, as Christ is forever the Hope of our glory. So why would we choose to work against His counsels unto living for our lives?.

You see, many evil perpetrates into lives & hearts in such moments and you wonder, why are they still involved in it? .

For some, addiction might have set in. For some, they are just taking it out of – “it’s my life”!. Hmm, what ever category you fall into, it’s an advice to you to see the truth in His word. And choose to be against the trend. The trend can be your end if you yield to it!. And generations awaits your manifestation – the uttermost ends of the 🌍 awaits you!.

Have you wondered why some people tag it being ”wasted”.. Hmm hmm..πŸ’ Have you?. Think on it please!.

Let’s pick ours from this & learn. And for those who have wanted to stop but found themselves going back into it.

Go back to Him on your kneels (not just kneeling physically & at heart you ain’t sober with it) & ask for His Grace to lead you out of it. Allow Him to help you cos you know He can & is able to lead you out of it. The truth is, either your addiction is at the height of it or not – God is able to do it and bring you out of it. If only you are willing.. If only!.
Read this πŸ‘‡
With Jesus as our high priest, we can feel free to come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we receive mercy and kindness to help us when we need it.

Heb. 4:16 ERV
Lastly, let’s meditate on this – πŸ‘‡
Brothers and sisters, continue to think about what is good and worthy of praise. Think about what is true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.

Php. 4:8 ERV

This is a verse we should hold on to when we view our lives, in the midst of so many trends and norms happening in our age today. A lot of us are so much in the world and really doing all the things of the world. When the same bible talks about us being in the world and not of this world.

Our identity should be different. Don’t let the system hack into your being and change your course.

You are meant for a place greater than this. You are!

Don’t be desperate to feel among and loose your sense of being. Don’t! πŸŒΈπŸ’

Father in heaven, help us to see more of you in us and never settle for the status quo. Don’t let us trade our eternity for the ephemeral. Amen. πŸ™πŸ™
Have a blissful week in Him. ☺
