๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿ’ƒ ***THE LADY IN WAITING – What Makes The Difference?*** ๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿ‘ธ

And he made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time when women go out to draw water.

Genesis 24:11 ESV

So the story was told of a young bachelor whose father’s servant went in search for a maiden for him, who belonged to the same kindred as he was. Okay, so fast forward to the eventuality, when the servant got to Nahor, at the time the maidens in the land do come out to draw water from the well. The maidens in the land do come out to draw water for their households. But the servant knowing this trend, asked God for more than the trend in the maiden God will lead him to, for his master’s son – Issac. And God being faithful, Rebekah came into the picture at that time, when every maiden in the land stuck to the norm and trend. Yes, it’s good to be responsible and committed to the lives God has placed in your life (your family) but, how much you give to the lives outside the confine of this space (your nuclear family) determines a great deal of your personality as well. I have realised and the truth is, God made you a part of the family you belong to for a pursuit or for a purpose; a blessed one I must say.

But more expediently, is the purpose of your being in the land (your community), the church you belong to and the lives God has made you come in contact with in the course of your life. We are never made or permitted to pass through a phase of our life by default, but for a purpose. A higher calling I must say. A greater pursuit to place us in the heavenly trend of things & plans for our lives. Rebekah stood out from the norm because her heart yearned with concern for the people around her & not just her family. She took the place of a maiden who knew she was committed to her family – yes!, but also to the individuals she met at every junction of her life. She stood out because she did this: ๐Ÿ‘‡

Before he had finished speaking, behold, Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came out with her water jar on her shoulder. The young woman was very attractive in appearance, a maiden whom no man had known. She went down to the spring and filled her jar and came up. She said, “Drink, my Lord.” And she quickly let down her jar upon her hand and gave him a drink. When she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.” So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough and ran again to the well to draw water, and she drew for all his camels. The man gazed at her in silence to learn whether the Lord had prospered his journey or not.

Genesis 24:15โ€ญ-โ€ฌ16โ€ญ, โ€ฌ18โ€ญ-โ€ฌ21 ESV

I’m so thrilled by her life. She didn’t know the servant from Adam and it was obvious he was a stranger to the land. But the love for others, which she had in her, spurred her to yield to the servant’s request and wow!, looking at the last verse as read above – the servant looked at her with so much admiration I must say and must have prayed in his heart for a success regarding his coming to the land for a maiden for Issac. She broke the record and the gold ring and bracelets were given to her. In fact, I am applauding her right now.

So my dear, I don’t know if people around you are constantly giving you compliments of you being a rare gem and all at the moment. But even if that is not the case, you can work on being a better you and if you have been getting such, don’t sleep off and get satisfied with this (neglecting that your best is yet to emerge). One of the principles I have held on to for years now is – you can’t be too good or amazing as to not be better (there’s always room for a better you!). I can’t count the comments I have heard people commemorate me and lives around me for. And being work in progress, we can always be better. I believe our perfection becomes complete when we finally come face to face with our lover (God).

And so, why should I sleep and just get settled into the status quo. Nay!, we ain’t meant for the status quo. You are made to give praises to your father in heaven through your living and being. You are never at your best until we meet with our king, we are never perfect until we are made one with the father at the end of our journey here on earth.

So my darling lady reading this, you can always get better and the time for that doesn’t come to be, when the ring is already on your middle finger or you’ve changed titles (from a Miss to Mrs) but it begins now, when you owe your life to God, yourself and your family. Give more, care more, love more and be proactive. There’s never an act of kindness that’s so small or minute. It’s always about the heart giving it.

Okay, so while I was growing up, I have always loved arts – drawing and painting and so I always made cards (handmade) for each celebrant in our house back then (so far I’m at home at that time). Even last year’s valentine was same for me, but as much as a card might have seem so small and “isn’t it just some fancy paper with some inscription on it?”. To me, it wasn’t, as it is a fancy paper that gave me the opportunity to celebrate the lives around me in my own small way and I get to inscribe on it what I would have wanted to say to the individual concerned. And pleasing enough, my niece surprised me with one recently (I must say, it meant a lot to me). So I stated this story, to encourage you, as no act of kindness is too small. And no act or steps taken towards being a better you is too minute or insignificant as to not produce result at the long run. Just picture a drop of water constantly dripping from the tap into a bucket and after hours, you get to see a pool of water in the bucket.

NOTE: ๐Ÿ“ โœ๏ธ
– No act of kindness is too small!.
– No step towards being better is too minute!.
– No life is to impenetrable that you can’t reach out to!.
– Nothing is ever termed “small” when it comes to doing good!.
– Nothing is ever termed “too late” that can’t be changed!.

It is great sharing this with you all. God’s blessings in the new week and days ahead. (Hugs) ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’ž
