👯🌼 SPARE THE YOUNG 👧👦

I was having my study one afternoon and one thing led to another, I was reading the Mosaic laws to the Children of Israel. How they are not to lay (have sex) with a fellow man or animal etc. And I said to myself “God knew this would happen and advised our way before they would have thought of such acts; as stated in the book of Leviticus, for them not to be part of the insanity”. But sadly, in our world today we have that so rampant and the world just seems like some impending disaster about to happen; constantly filling up and fuelling its explosive tank heading for a blast. 💥

It is sad and I couldn’t help but recall the message I downloaded via one of the WhatsApp group I belong to and its relation to this. How today’s children are all out and exposed to all sort. From how the supposed innocent cartoons are now a major threat; to how the supposed tutors (the teachers) are now predators to them. Life instances of teachers, teaching toddlers and preschoolers rubbish and unheard-of things. Children raping each other and they are so conscious of it. They see no wrong in it; so bold to even state it that they know. The extent of them texting and using social media platforms (for teenagers) for extreme social relationships all in the name of “wanting to be among”. We are in a very sick world but we can right that wrong.

I just couldn’t help but pray “God help our young ones”. Gone are the days the intent of a child can be trusted as it being innocent and pure; you know that sincere heart of a child – no worries and pain. But what do we have now – we have so many broken children. 😪

So many hurting children. The man in the message also mentioned scenarios of children who were raped (8 months old upward; all real-life incidences) who were obviously helpless when preyed on and would have to deal with trusting men later on and all. Teenagers marking their male pastors who have raped them etc. So many sad scenarios! and for some who tried to tell their parents about the abuse but were shut up or didn’t believe them and made them suffer all alone in silence. 😭

Our children are exposed to a lot. A lot!. And for some, they are battered and hurting bad. The part that touched me deeply was when he stated: “When last did you see children playing outdoors and being a child as the then child does”. Because some have had to grow up compulsorily and parents now are all in the bid to make money; get this and that. The intentions are good; because you need to cater for them. But never should it be at their expense. Sit them down, ask them their day was in school or that social gathering. Be open to let them tell you what really happened?.

Let them narrate everything without you interrupting them or shutting them up. Be a listener. They need to be heard. Stop shutting them up!.

I couldn’t help but take my thoughts on this beyond myself. It’s a call back for us all: for parents to get back to their roles as Parents; for teachers to be teachers indeed – when last did you ask that extremely reserved child in your classroom what is wrong?. You can be a mediator to that child. For pastors to be pastors, and church children coordinators to get back to being one. Share with them but most importantly listen to them!. 🙇

If only we would give room to let them speak to us, then the root of some of the aches (they were forced to bear) in such children can be visited and rooted out with prayers and love. As you allow God to direct you on how to go about it: as a teacher, coordinator, pastor, etc.

You keep saying “my child” are you sure your child is still yours. Or has him/her been snatched away by that human predator?. 😕 When the innocence of a child is forcefully taken away by people who were meant to be trusted folks or family. You have lost him or her!. 😕😭

Let’s revive the children ministry dear reader and let each home rebuild it, let the church do likewise and our educational system imbibe this as well.

Remembering these texts:

Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it. PROVERBS 22:6 (AMP)

“Secure their future from now”.
By teaching them the Ancient landmark – God!”

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. PROVERBS 3:5‭-‬6 (AMP)

“God alone can correct the wrong hence you can’t do it on your own or in your own way”.
Every child is a covenant child to God! Arrows in God’s hands (Psalms 127:3-5; MSG) – you can’t do any parenting or tutoring successfully without Him in the lives of these young ones.

But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble and sin [by leading him away from My teaching], it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone [as large as one turned by a donkey] hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. MATTHEW 18:6 (AMP)

“If you fail to get it right as a parent or tutor or coordinator now, then be prepared for the worst of”.
To every work committed to your hands by God or man, there is an assessment at the latter end of it. Will God find you faithful?. It’s better you don’t go into it at all, than for you to be slack on it!. 😧

Teach them “the way; God’s way” and not your “own way”!. 🙌

Do have a thoughtful and step-retracing time ahead. ❤

God bless you for writing this post. As a mother, I can connect to this. It’s a pity how the world is turning to. This is also a reminder that the children God has given to us are His and we are only caretakers, so we are definitely going to give account to Him. We need to train our children right from when they are very young the way of God and fill their hearts with God’s Word. We need to learn to listen to them and know them. Thank you for sharing this powerful and spirit-filled post.

    1. Amen sis. Bless God. 🙂

      Sighs, it really is!.

      Love that “caretakers”. Absolutely!

The aspect of knowing is key. Most parents use same method for all children, forgetting they weren’t made the same way. They are individually distinct beings. 🙌

      Glad to sis. 🙂

  5. You served a food for thought Mercy. This is profound and instructive. These are times when absurdity is the order of the day and our young ones are exposed to disturbing and almost unimaginable things. Like you rightly said, it behooves the care givers (parent, teachers, mentors…) to take responsibility for these lives and ensure they are nurtured in the way of the Lord. We’ll all give accounts of how we took care of the gifts God has put in our care. 🙏

It is so sad to see the world today and the dangers for children. At my church we have video monitors for all areas for children’s ministry. The internet can be very dangerous for children, so parents need to be watchful. It makes me think of what Jesus said about anyone who harms a child while he was talking about a child in Matthew 18- “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

    1. Yes bro. Wow!, love that -close monitoring. Very true, so much rubbish and unhealthy views for them.

That verse is deep!. We are accountable for these lives.

      Thanks big bro. 🙌
