πŸ’ πŸ”Ή IN CONVENIENCE OR AS A SACRIFICE ❔❓

So I got drawn to writing on this while I was having my study on of the days. And the study texts shed more light on service to God and our lives being a sacrifice to God. Everything that emanates from us; All of it is a form of worship/praise unto God.

Let’s read this verse together:

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.
Romans 12:1 (AMP)

AND

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary lifeβ€”your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around lifeβ€”and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Romans 12:1‭-‬2 (MSG)

NOTE: It’s the same verse but in different translations. πŸ™‚

Yes, just as Paul admonished the apostles in Romans, so also it is a charge to us to pay attention to our service unto God. Has it been out of convenience or a sacrifice indeed?

I can remember my previous work schedule included: waking up early and getting to work on time even if it means walking under the rain and enduring the cold etc. And I am most certain that this is the vibe for most folks in other places as well. As lateness is a No-No. πŸ™…

And then what do we have today, we have folks having their work-life – 7 of the 7 days in a week. With no room for worship/fellowship time included in their weekly plans or activities. And even some folks using their Sundays as their time off to catch their rest/sleep, hence neglecting the place of fellowshipping with the brethren. πŸ€”

Before we get so wrapped up in the statement “God understands”, let me remind you that God is a jealous God: not the negative type of jealously but a positive one – lingering and yearning for your time and fellowship with Him and your service unto Him. He seeks for you and I. πŸ’•

Quit chasing a race that is ephemeral, would you? And choose His race – God race, which leads to an everlasting rest and settlement.

Trust me, there can be a balance in your work schedule and your fellowship time with Him. As well as with the brethren if only we see it as a commitment, not an option.

So dear reader, that is the charge. Let’s make God more of a priority in our lives beyond the lip confessions and really make Him our aim in our daily fittings and plans.

Just quick question folks:
Would you go to church under the rain even if it is raining heavily or would you rather stay back?. And in a scenario whereby places change and it happens to be to your workplace – would you make it down there no matter what?. πŸ€”

Think on this. How have you and I been cheating God of the intimacy He so many desires in us, all in a bid to fit other plans of ours and get it right? Whereas we live Him on a “I will do it later; God understands” mode. πŸ˜•

Caution dear reader!
Caution!

Do have a blessed and fruitful new week. Selah!.

It’s very common for people to say, “put God first” but don’t understand what it means to put God first. The life of the Kingdom Citizen should be a life of daily sacrifice that is characterized by selfless service to God and His people.

True. It’s a sacrifice! and realising we are nothing without Him, should humble us even more.
May God help us stick closer to Him. πŸ™

Giving of ourselves to God and to others follows the example of Jesus like Philippians 2 talks about πŸ™‚

It is not easy. It is a daily choice, sometimes hourly. sometimes in the moment choice.

Hmmm. “It’s a daily choice we really have to make”. With so many things to do and all. But understanding I without Him(God) = Nothing helps us stay true to our fellowshipping with Him. πŸ™‡

You’re right! We need to make time with the Lord a priority. No excuses. I have found when I was struggling to do this, it helps to pray and ask God for guidance and He will somehow help me to rearrange my schedule. Or give me strength to get up in the morning to be with Him. But it’s important to ask. We have not because we ask not (James 4:2). Thanks for this important reminder!

      Yes big sis.

That is how graceful He is – He is just so concerned and ready to help us with even the slightest thing we feel “humanly speaking – I can handle it”.

      True – Ask!.

Glad to sis. All to Him. ❀
