πŸ’ πŸŽ€πŸ’Ÿ OUR LOVE WALK REQUIRES DEEP COMMITMENT πŸ΅πŸŒΉπŸ’

Smiles. Curious about where this is leading?. I am too – Partly!. 😁

So yes I couldn’t help but share the graceful love story I came to read about in a new light today. And that love story is centered on the man – Daniel. πŸ“

Let’s read this text:

Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he went into his house (now in his roof chamber his windows were open toward Jerusalem); he continued to get down on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.

Daniel 6:10 (AMP)

And in Message version:

When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.

Daniel 6:10 (MSG)

Reading this verse again brings to my heart, thrills of “Oh my! such an ardent lover Daniel was!”.

Did you read that verse carefully?. I would advise we read it calmly and savor the truth in that verse. Daniel was a man who knew that a decree was just made, stating that no prayer be made to any god or man in the land (verses 7-9). And at the same time, he went back home and “just as his custom was and had been” he prayed. He didn’t even hide it. Maybe he could have shut the window and whispered instead but something about him was like “this rule can’t make me let go of my love”. I am still going to stay glued with Him either way. Such Commitment! πŸ™Œ

Let me try to bring it home. Let’s picture two friends that are known to be best of friends, having to face a scenario where the parents of one of the duo decide to split them up. Let’s just picture how devastating that would be for them but because they know how much they matter to each other, they could stick together till a resolution is made rather than just breaking it off just like that.

But then, their decision to rather stick with each other and make it work is dependent on: their commitment to their relationship and how far they have grown to really understand that it requires a great deal of intentionality and commitment to sustain a relationship (friendship inclusive).

So back to Daniel. He just wasn’t going to let anything. Absolutely nothing! debar him from communing with his love – God!. He had come to the place of knowing “if I subject myself and don’t pray as the decree is, I am still a dead man”. Because His Spirit man would be lacking “the infilling for its depth”

For me, having to go days without having a quality time out with Abba, drains me. I feel all on the edge and just not myself. It is simply exhausting at such moments. 😟

So yes, our love walk is deliberate, it is intentional and requires a great deal of commitment. Yes, that seals it up – commitment!.

God is a great advocate of this and a model for us. Even while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Also even when we feel all choked in life, His words (the Bible) remind us that He is our “present help in times of trouble” (Psalms 46:1).

Oh my, He is so committed to our lives and I wonder why we are not striving to do the same. πŸ˜•

Guard that faith you have jealousy. Even when it requires you “standing alone” please do!. It’s all worth it eventually. If we read further the verses after our reference verse (Daniel 6:10), the victory that followed suit for Daniel; which we now make reference to today, would have never come to play in Daniel 6:24-28, if he didn’t choose to stay with God!.

It’s a choice – a deliberate decision and absolutely nothing will happen to birth that “wow” in our faith walk if we do not choose to stick with God.

I am intentionally using the word “stick”. Stick with Him like glue – adhesive o😁 Become inseparable with Him. Really He is the crux of our being. There is no other life as quality as a life spent in God through Christ Jesus!.

May His words minister hope and life in you. Amen. πŸ™

Jesus Loves you!!!. πŸ’•

A graceful day ahead. ❀

  2. I love your description of Daniel’s relationship with God. It reminds us that our relationship with Him has to be #1…not our ministry/church work, not our spouse, not our our job….nothing should come before Him!!

This post reminded me of what Joshua said to the people, ”But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua‬ ‭24:15‬ As for me and my house, I choose God!
