💮🏵 MINDSET 👤🙎

So it happened that I was on transit from Lagos, heading back to Oyo. A few minutes after we left the park, we came heads on with road traffic that had built up for a while. The highlight is that there was this woman seated directly behind us, she just kept up with the “Ah; eh”, “Jesus comes to our rescue o, traffic!”. All these she said in Yoruba. I couldn’t help but smile. I was just wondering how she was being all dramatic and fearsome. Even though some minutes earlier, she happened to be the one who led the prayer for us on the bus on our exit from the bus park.

That is a typical human being for you. Even I sometimes, it’s like my “God I trust you” statement seems like “Mercy do you really trust Him” when I come face to face with some unexpected situations. At such points, I am just all clueless about what to do and even to maintain a clear frame of mind seems all difficult. Sighs, I know I can trust Him at all times regardless of my situation. The truth is searching deeply I do but the sight of the present reality is just staring me right in the face and I feel lost in it; feeling stuck in worry and even on what to do next.

But then there is this song that kept coming to my mind after my encounter with another unexpected some days ago and I want to share it with you.

“When we walk with the Lord
In the Light of His word
What a glory He sheds on our way;
While we do His goodwill,
He abides with us still,
And with all, who will trust and Obey…..”

Hymns are a blessing really!. I am here to state to you today: Humanly speaking, trusting Him can be crazy. It can literarily seem like you are being placed on a spinning carousel and you just can’t seem to stop it. But hey, looking at the latter part of the hymn stated. He will surely light up our ways and will shed His Glory on our paths.

When we choose God’s words and His ways always, He will come through. For me, I know He will. I can’t promise you when exactly though. But my heart believes this. And I know I need to get this sunk into my heart the more myself. But assuredly He will!.

God’s ways are never ours and His thoughts are extremely wider and unexplainable deeper and different. Sighs, I am sharing this even when it seems like I am being put in a fix myself. But I know He wants me to share this with you as well.

God is for you and He loves you despite it all. He’s got this and He’s got you!. Totally! 💯
God bless you!.

    2. It has always astounded me that we can go from being in the presence of God one minute & then be in a full-blown melt down the next. What I realized is that the Evil One is very good at knowing when our defenses are down; then he swoops in and causes a ruckas.

Sounds like my week. At the beginning…”I know, you’ve got ALL this God.” By the end, falling apart inside over all the things. I cling to 1 Peter 5:7–cast all that concerns you in Him… Thanks for putting “Trust and Obey” on my heart. The 2nd verse is speaking to me right now: “Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies, but His smile quickly drives it away. Not a doubt not a fear, not a sigh nor a tear, can abide while we trust and obey.”

Yes, and I agree— we should trust God even when it doesn’t make sense, for if we have faith and vision and it aligns wigh God’s will, it shall come
    To pass.

I can certainly relate to the declaring one thing and then being on pins and needles. I have also seen where God doesn’t show up on our time always. I remember one month I waited, and He didn’t show up until nearly 2 weeks later. Look at Lazarus, He showed up after He was dead and buried. What we can take solace in though Mercy, is that He did show up and He will continue to show up. This was a powerful point you shared,
“God’s ways are never ours and His thoughts are extremely wider and unexplainable deeper and different.” Keep hanging on to that. He is God, we are not.
My love to you always ♥️

    1. Smiles. That spin!. True, and that is one thing we should note “He will show up in His time – which is of good for us”. Not always easy to as humans but we keep growing in faith. 🙇

      Wow. 2 weeks after!.

Lazarus’s case ehn!. It is always faith challenging. I have this song that always rings in my mind – “when he’s four days late and all hope is lost.. Lord we don’t understand why you waited so long…” Four days late by Karen peck and New River.

      It is unexplainable deeper!! 🙌

Hmmm. Thanks sis. He is God! – He oversees!

As I read you second to last sentence, I’m reminded of the verse (or four) that says, “The just shall live by faith.” I encourage you Mercy, to live by faith. Where ever you find a gap in your life, a gap between what you need and where you are – extend your faith to Abba. Lift your eyes, flex the faith muscles and rise.

Amen 🙏🏿. Though we do not know the path we ought to go, when we lean on the Lord, He will surely be our guide. We must continually learn to trust in Him and lean not on our own understandings. Trusting in the Lord is a journey we don’t always understand but God’s ways are perfect and those who choose to abide in Him will be strengthened even as they are bearing fruit for His Kingdom. Our minds are renewed through the process of seeking the Father. Somethings may fall apart but it is God who holds all things together for His good and glory. Thank you for sharing Mercy 😊🕊

Reminds me of the story of the disciples who prayed for Peter’s deliverance yet found it hard to believe that God eventually rescued him.

Whenever we pray, God hears us and answers. We just have to silence the pervasive situations and hinge our faith on God’s faithfulness to do what He has promised he’ll do. He never fails.
