💮 CHOOSE FAITH ❤

Choosing faith

So while I was pondering and asking “what do I share this week”?. These words came to heart – Choose faith!.

So what does it mean to choose faith?.

What is it that we have been choosing in its stead before now?

Is it that we haven’t been choosing faith as we ought to?.

All these questions are in my thoughts too. 🤔

So what does it mean to choose faith?.

It means to choose life. The Bible says the Just shall live by faith. And who are the just?. The just are those who have allowed the righteousness of God to become their reality and existence as well in Christ Jesus.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, “The just and upright shall live by faith .”

Romans 1:17 AMP

And,

For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union with the Christ, the Anointed] have clothed yourselves with Christ [that is, you have taken on His characteristics and values].

Galatians 3:26‭-‬27 AMP

We have been called to live a life of faith in Christ Jesus. And by faith, it means we are choosing Jesus over and over again. And Jesus Christ is the word of God – John 1:1.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the word.
The word is Jesus

So we can say that choosing faith is choosing God’s words to us over and over again.

I know most of us have had a series of doubts and worries in recent times. And on some days it seems as if the word of God is speaking hope to you and you are all bubbly. While on another day it just seems like – No, I just don’t understand this. Why is God being so slow on me and why is that I have to wait this long?.

Thoughts - Dreams

We even begin to deflect and count the times we have waited. It is like that for me on some days too. 😓 God knows I have worked my head so hard on some days. I just want to mutter a short prayer and lay down. Maybe I thought, sleeping through it will clear it out. 😂

But, then I wake up to reality. And I have to take it back to Him. You know, God is also concerned about that negative emotion we are feeling in our time of wait. We may be saying to ourselves that “I don’t want to bug God with what He already knows” but trust me, God wants you to bug Him!.

In God's vocabulary, there is no situation TOO LITTLE to tell Him
Nothing is TOO LITTLE with God

Yes, He does. If not He wouldn’t have told us to come before Him with our burdens and lay it all at His feet. And note that He wants us to lay it down, never to take it back up. And so He says to us “my yoke to you is light; take mine instead” (paraphrased).

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 AMP

Our father is so lovely right?.

Dancing - Friends rejoicing

So are you wondering or still in a fix on what to do. And you are asking “what do I do now?, I have been waiting for so long”. I will say to you “Choose faith”.

Yes please, choose faith. We know that there is no battle greater than God and if we don’t choose Him, we are as well just saying I am choosing less. Because God is the greatest. And there is no better place to be than to be right in Him.

Choose to stick with God, even when you have a thousand reasons not to
Stay with God

I will use two Bible Characters to buttress this. These are men who knew that regardless of how their situation was or how long it persisted, God is still who He says He is – God!!!!.

First, David:

David’s first comments were this –

I will say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” As a crushing of my bones [with a sword], my adversaries taunt me, While they say continually to me, “Where is your God?”

Psalms 42:9‭-‬10 AMP

But then, He chose faith and then He stated this –

Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless and disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

Psalms 42:11 AMP

The second Bible character is Habakkuk.

I listened to an audio message a big sis of mine sent to me and that just made me love this book the more. Before now, Chapter 2 has been a source of hope for me. Okay, let’s take a look at these verses.

Habakkuk lamented at first here –

O Lord, how long will I call for help And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet Yu do not save. Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? For destruction and violence are before me; Strife continues and contention arises. Therefore, the law is ineffective and ignored And justice is never upheld, For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore, justice becomes perverted.

Habakkuk 1:2‭-‬4 AMP

And,

Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You cannot look favorably on wickedness. Why then do You look favorably on those who act treacherously? Why are you silent when the wicked (Chaldean oppressors) destroy those more righteous than they?

Habakkuk 1:13 AMP

P.S – You can read the whole chapter 1 for more on his conversation with God.

But then Habakkuk after pouring out everything; I mean everything, because his conversations continued to the first few verses of Chapter 3. He chose faith. Let’s have a look at it.

Though the fig tree does not blossom And there is no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fails And the fields produce no food, Though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments.

Habakkuk 3:17‭-‬19 AMP

Do note that the situation didn’t change as such. But His posture changed and instead of all the happenings, He chose faith and chose God. And that changed how this book ended. To me, it is more of a crescendo – it moved from weariness to a high spirit. From a troubled heart to a heart full of hope and life.

Faith is a bridge from hopeless to Hopefulness

Choosing faith changes everything. Though it may not change our situation as quickly as we could desire, it helps our eyes to behold it and if we can behold it, we can live it.

What we envision is our reality

Blessings. 🤗

I choose faith in Jesus Christ. God doesn’t work according to how we feel but He works according to what is right for us. Habakkuk prophecies brings hope for restoration, it’s a very encouraging book in the Bible. We can see some of the same thing happening in our time, the lacking of justice and the righteous suffers. Very thoughtful posting Herry Continue to be inspirational in the grace of Jesus Christ
