๐Ÿ’ฎ๐Ÿ’ฎ Rest ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒผ

Resting the Christ's way

We are currently in a season where the word – rest has become very crucial for us to engage in. But sadly, many have forgotten what this even means. The current trends have been from sleepless nights of many even in their homes because of the violence currently going on around them. To those who are in a panic because of the pandemic (Coronavirus) and also those who are in fear of other diseases trending in our world today. To those experiencing one trying time and it all seems like chaos is the other of the day in their minds. To individuals who are battling the constant nightmares just because he or she was molested and hence the night had become a time of horror rather than the rest, it ought to bring to their beings.

There are other scenarios I can’t even think of right now but there is only one solution to all of our current unrest. And truth be told, it may seem like a familiar truth to us and hence we let go of the efficacy, believing in this truth can bring to us.

I am not about to share with you what I was only told but also what I personally I have experienced. And what is that one source to which our unrest can be put before, in exchange for a deeper level of rest?.

Seeking rest in Jesus

That source is Jesus. I will be referencing a verse and I will admonish you to read this from a perspective of “I want to glean from this” and not “I have heard and read this verse so much before, what else can I learn from this?”. While you are engaging a mind shift on this, also remember that “His word is alive and active”. (Hebrews 4:12)

And by alive it simply means that it keeps hitting us on point (new every day). There is no death mode where it loses its efficacy. Hence it is Active.

The verse:

โ€œCome to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation].

Matthew 11:28 (AMP)

So what then should be our response to the relief and comfort this verse is pointing out to us?.
Our response should be – “Come”.

Jesus is saying to us

Imagine if the prodigal son never went back? (Luke 15: 11-32). He may have lived tending and feeding from the swine’s food for the rest of his life possibly. Whereas, he had a greater inheritance back at home, with his father. But he regained this privileged because he left and went back. And this action of returning should also be our response to – Come!.

We are to approach Him. We are to let Him know how this season is like for you. You are to come plain before Him. As a dear friend would say “don’t be vague”. ๐Ÿ˜
But that is it, God wants you to come plain with Him.

Reference verse:

“And when you pray, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. So do not be like them [praying as they do]; for your, Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”

Matthew 6:7โ€ญ-โ€ฌ8 (AMP)

Don’t decorate that hurt you are feeling or that doubt you are having or that panic you are experiencing right now. State it as it is.

Speak up and speak out - Be open with God

One of my lessons from last year, that will always stay with me is “praying the sincere prayer”. Just as you and I have read that we should pray with the knowledge that our father knows it all already. So why not just go straight to the point and express it how you really feel.

Our God is our father, a good one. He is not like anyone you have interacted with thus far in your entire existence here on earth!. He is the one who listens. We really do not need to set up an official invite or travel miles away to see Him or meet with Him. He is right there where you and that is why we call Him ” Omnipresent” because He is everywhere!. ๐Ÿ™Œ

You have God's attention

So why don’t you let it all out before Him today and henceforth be more open to lean towards Him and gain access to a rest that has no expiry date. The type that could make Jesus sleep soundly even in the midst of the boisterous storms. ๐Ÿ’ƒ(Matthew 8:24)

Will you approach Him today and respond to His call “Come”?

I pray that His word will dwell richly in us and grant unto us His Peace that lasts. (Amen) ๐Ÿ™

Wishing you a blessed new week and a great month ahead.
Happy new month. ๐Ÿค—โค

  13. It was a cheerful read. Though I believe in Universe but after reading this I realised one thing that there is no distinction in Jesus, Universe and any other God. They are welcome peace and honesty. All we have to do is to believe them and speak to them because they want us to come and free from pain. Sending love:-):-):-)

I love this post! You have sincerely shared a word straight from the heart of our Father God. Thank you for being obedient to Holy Spirit in sharing your heart and His.

It’s true, the most honest prayers are the desperate ones. When we get to that place of no longer pretending and simply get real. In this world, we often put on a happy, brave face when everything feels like it’s falling apart. The beauty of our relationship with God is we can drop all of that nonsense. He knows our hearts. Every sigh is a silent prayer before His throne. His love is truly amazing. What a blessing it is to be loved by Him who sees us, knows us and loves us more than we could ever imagine.

It’s a profound thought isn’t it? Knowing that everything we care about deeply matters to God. Wow. I love how you said it, “- Come.” That’s all we have to do. Simply rest in His presence and be renewed. There’s no place like the tangible presence of God!

I love you, sis. Thank you for sharing this beautiful message of hope in a turbulent time. We need you and your ministry!

It IS a delight that God gives us fresh eyes to see new insight, even in scriptures we’ve read countless times before. Not long ago when I came across Psalm 23:3 for the 357th time (or thereaboutsโ€”Iโ€™ve been a Christian for a very long time!), I suddenly noticed Godโ€™s guidance along the rights paths is for HIS nameโ€™s sake. I wondered, isnโ€™t it for MY sake, so I stay out of trouble and on his safe, productive way? A bit of research helped me understand that my choices impact His reputation. As I journey through life according to Godโ€™s guidance, it is His glory, mercy, faithfulness, and goodness that are prominently put on display. Just as children bring honor to their parents with respectful, obedient behavior, it is my privilege to bring honor to my Heavenly Father with my reverence and obedience. For the times His reputation has been tarnished because of my poor choices, I ask for forgiveness and pray for perseverance to choose the right path. Thank you for your thought-provoking post, Mercy!

Your post is truly inspiring and reminds me of being in His rest. As I navigate my way back to complete health I trusted in that “rest” and His ability to restore all that the enemy continuously attempts to destroy. but God is always good and as I walk through the valleys of my life I always try to keep that at the forefront of my life … it never fails!
Your message are truly inspired and I am always excited to come visit and read what our Lord has placed on your heart for us.
