🔻 ENTITLED OR NOT? 🤔

Entitled mindset - Are you entitled to these?

I know it’s a thing for us as humans to desire that people meet our needs. And we feel like they owe us something maybe because of our level of relationship with them.

So for example, a lady who is in a stage of life you would consider “a grown-up” starts to have this attitude build up, just because her parents or guardians are unable to give her something or provide for her needs as promised.

We need to know that as much as we have people God has given the grace to meet our needs and they provide for us. We should never get to that state that we exchange their frail selves for God!.

God as God - Unlimited - Man as Man - Frail

God is unlimited and He alone is the one we should set the focus on, always.

We shouldn’t get to the point where we now make them our all and when they disappoint, we are left devastated. 😪

And another part is knowing that no one owes us anything. It’s only grace that has enabled them to act on our behalf. So instead of getting upset because someone is unable to meet our needs why don’t we take it to the one who is unhindered and unlimited?. He is the God of all flesh. And He is unstoppable in His dealings. And a vivid example of His goodness is in the giving of His beloved son (Himself) for us. Regardless of all the oppositions, Christ faced with Pharisees and Sadducees and the people He ministered to, etc. He still followed through. And He was able to because He is Grace Himself.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is with your spirit.

Philippians 4:23 (AMP)

Whereas, man depends on this grace of His, to act.

So when next you are about to fret or get all worked up just because someone is not following through as promised, look up!. 🙌

Look up - He brightens our day with His hope

I always say that I love nature a lot and the reason why I do is that it reminds me, that there is a God that sustains all these things – the flowers, trees, birds, animals, the changing clouds, etc. And these things for a fact, don’t have someone or people, that is like tending to it on a daily basis. But these are still fed daily. God equips some of these plants to grow, even in the desert and they are still sustained. And you are made in His exact image, do you think He would show up less for you?.

Give it a thought while you meditate on these verses:

Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.”

Genesis 1:26 (AMP)

And,

What is the man that You [should] magnify him [and think him important]? And that You are concerned about him? And that You examine him every morning And try and test him every moment?

Job 7:17‭-‬18 (AMP)

You mean the most to Him - Loved - His eyes are upon you

Lean away from the entitlement mindset and lean towards your utmost source – God!.

Lean upward - Look up

Blessings. 🙏

Happy new week. 🤗

I like how you said, no one owes us anything . No one can give us the love, joy and hope that God can give us. We can look to Him and know that He has everything we will ever want.

Absolutely on point, Mercy. This is a needed reminder for us at all stages in our lives – to not be so fixated on another that their absence will leave us devastated. It almost point to them becoming an idol in our hearts.

Yes sis. We really should watch out for it. There is a thin line for us in it. This has been a lesson for me in the past months, when some promises failed and it almost shut me down. Till I realised I had not been trusting God, instead I was holding people’s promises about His. 😪
      Happy new month. ❤

  17. We can’t live our lives as dependants. There is no challenged free life, as a matter everyone has his/her own needs to meet. One of the hardest law of faith is the “law of absolutely dependency” looking unto men for help disqualifies us from God’s help. Dan.11:32 says, the people that know their God shall he strong and do exploits. We don’t need to know any mortal man to cause waves in our generation. And God has no delight in the legs of man neither the strength of the horse. Let’s put our trust in God. Thanks, God bless your heart🙂
