πŸ’ JUST A LITTLE LONGER 🚢

Girl - sitting on a tree - swing - Reading

I would be sharing with you my experience, of eating a plant or maybe a potential tree. πŸ˜€

How I ate a tree - Story time

On this graceful evening, I laid down on my bed, trying to catch a break from the day’s tasks. And then I looked towards my side and saw the bowl of boiled groundnut, mum had earlier given me. So I took the first pod, ate it. Then goes the second, then the third, till I got to the Fifth or sixth (Can’t fully remember). And there I cracked the pod and saw some white attachment on the groundnut. At first, I thought I was seeing boiled maggot or worms. πŸ˜‚

But on a closer look, I saw that it was the young roots of these groundnuts. And it didn’t make it out because it was boiled and I ate it (it was dead anyway, so no guilt-tripping πŸ™ˆ). So there goes my plant-eating story. πŸ˜‚

Avatar - Joy - a good Laugh - amused

That was on a lighter note but it amused me when I thought about the whole thing. And while pondering on it, I realized that the one who boiled it didn’t know of the potential that was in that particular pod, as it was enclosed. And I the eater, only saw it when it was dead already. πŸ™ˆ

So I couldn’t help but reflect on how this applies to us as humans. Who would have thought that this seemingly, not different groundnut pod bore on its inside a potential that was already growing forth but it was just yet to be seen?.

Potentials - Don't give up - sprouting forth

Who would have thought that this pod was about spreading its root and if it was left a little longer, might end up yielding more than the three (3) nuts I saw inside the pod.

I know it can be frustrating waiting on something or even trying so hard to achieve something. As it seems to be taking a while for it to actualize. Maybe, just maybe if you would wait a little longer, then you would see it happen, physically.

Worth the wait - on the long run

I remember a particular day, sometime last year that I was having a not too great day and I was out of the house to get some things. I remembered tearing up when He reminded me that although it may seem to me like I was not moving from my initial stage right now, that I was in motion, and soon, it would become obvious. He used an example of a moving truck we were moving against. As I was on a motorbike with the bike rider and initially it felt like we were in a position for a while. Until the truck slowed down and we were able to see the whole area conveniently. And then I realized we had moved farther than I initially thought of.

I know the word “wait” can be scary but it can be a stepping stone unto something great. I remember a picture I made with a quote some time ago and it was about “how our greatest struggles can be the channel to our greater testimonies” (paraphrased).

Your struggles do not define you - testimonies - channels

We are not helpless and we are greatly helped. Would you breathe today (For real, take a deep breath and lookup)? Gaze at the moving clouds; the birds flying and soaring, and behold the beauty of nature all around you. If all these (all you gazed at) are thriving, you also are definitely thriving. It may not seem so obvious or even obvious at all to you or even people all around you. But sometime soon, it will be worth the while.

Wait for it - Don't give in - a little longer

Just a little longer, dear reader. Just a little longer, don’t be in a haste to kill that dream. Just a little longer, and take a deep breath. Just a little longer, don’t give up on that vision. Just a little longer. It will definitely be worth the while. Just a little longer, you are not left helpless. ❀

Glean strength from these verses:

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be].

1 Peter 5:10 (AMP)

And,

Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap if we do not give in.

Galatians 6:9 (AMP)

Wishing you a blessed new week. πŸ€—

A wonderful and inspirational post. So beautifully written. Your words are so true. We plant seeds, water and feed them. But, if we don’t see a sprout soon we give up. If we would’ve watered one more day the seed would have grown into a magnificent tree. All of our potential is underground waiting to spring out.

    Few days back, God showed me his mercy and sent a word to help my heart;
Rom.8.25 – But if we look forward to something we don’t have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently.

Now, I’m encourage… Yes, It might take a while, but it will soon form.

Sweetest Herry, this is such an incredibly inspirational message. You’re such a blessing!

I love how you used the imagery of the boiled groundnut to relay such a powerful message! Wow, this is wonderful. You’re right — we often don’t see the potential in ourselves. We do give up, entirely too soon. After all, we have an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. It’s often the case that he gets us to give up right before the victory is seen with our own eyes. When the fighting gets intense, there’s a reason! If we aren’t a threat and the dream is ‘dead,’ why would he care so much?

You are awesome, sis, and your messages inspire hope each and every time you write. Great things are coming your way. God’s purpose for you is right on time. Stand still. He’s coming for you! πŸ¦‹

Sending you my deepest love across the miles. You’re beautiful, inside and out! Never forget it!
