We all have in some way had our rough paths this year. The year 2020, will always be that year we would refer to in some year’s time.
But the reality of a Bible chapter the Lord gave me earlier this year even when it was so not looking like it for me has kept me going. I was in a place where everything I had least expected was happening to me. I would say that I felt like God was away a lot of times and I just couldn’t understand the so many “why this and that”, I was faced with.
But amid the odds. This chapter has held me. Some days I am just confessing it even though my head is so not in it. 😂
And because it is a chapter covenant for me I still did. And the reality of it has become more evident and alive in my heart now, that I just know that beyond it all His presence holds me.
I know it’s been a lot for us this year but I want us to hold on to the reality of His words to us. That though the economy may seem harsh right now, and a lot seem dwindling all around us. But because we have a God who is above all the “buts” and “odds” we will rather rise instead of sinking deep and drowning in these situations.
I want you to confess these verses with me, replacing “Jerusalem” with your name:
For, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness will cover the peoples, But the Lord will arise upon you [Jerusalem] And His glory and brilliance will be seen on you.
Isaiah 60:2 AMP
And,
“Lift your eyes around you and see; They all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from far away, And your daughters will be looked after at their side.
Isaiah 60:4 AMP
All I choose to see amid all the happenings is God’s goodness and that He remains good. All I choose to bank on in all of the chaos all around us today is that our God is for us. 🙌
And even in the worst of storms, we would sail through. Because as Jesus was in the boat with the disciples, and the storm couldn’t do more than roar. That is the same right now for us. As that is how far it can go (to only roar), nothing more.
And suddenly a violent storm arose on the sea so that the boat was being covered by the waves, but Jesus was sleeping. He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was [at once] a great and wonderful calm [a perfect peacefulness].
Matthew 8:24, 26 AMP
The storms can’t swallow us up. Why?
Because the Lord is for us. His mighty hands sustain us. We are indeed blessed and this right here is our reality. 🙌

Wow, those Isaiah quotes were extremely powerful. I’m definitely saving them to return to later. Thank you so much for these encouraging words, we all need to remember that He can bring us through everything – all that we need is strong roots in him and nothing can blow us over. God has brought me through so much this year including depression and some medical scares with my disability. I thought that my faith would waver due to these times, but in the contrary, it just proved to me that He could see me through anything.
