To say that a lot has changed in a couple of months all around right now, is an understatement. We are experiencing changing routines and laws guiding our nations, each passing time.
We are just in an ever-changing life time.
I was in the car with a colleague of mine when we were talking about the trend of things in my country at the moment. Regarding Sim card registrations and how there was a time, last year that you could get a sim card for free. As there were a lot of promotions, by different network providers in Nigeria. But here we are in 2021, and there has been a big change. We now have to guard our sim cards with jealously. 😂As one can’t afford to lose it because of the new law on sim registrations in Nigeria.
This is a major change that affects us all as a nation. Bringing it home to our individual lives, there has been major changes for us individually as well.
But what hope do we have in the ever-changing seasons and times?
What is that hold we have that regardless of how unpredictable life can sometime be, that we still have hope?.
That hold, which also is our hope is this:
Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).
Hebrews 13:8 AMPC
He remains the constant in our lives if we allow Him into our lives. And if we give Him room to direct the affairs of our lives.
This verse has been coming to mind a lot these past days and it reminds me of how intentional God can be about our every step.
I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
Psalm 32:8 AMPC
He seeks to guide us by and by and we can trust that even when we are uncertain He isn’t because He guides us with His eyes and His eyes are Omnipresent!. 💃
For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the Lord, and He [Who would have us live soberly, chastely, and godly] carefully weighs all man’s goings.
Proverbs 5:21 AMPC
So Abba knows what He is doing and hence we can trust His every move in the seemingly unknown paths in our lives.
I pray that we would all get to that place that we would be unshaken by the storms no matter how turbulent it seems all around us. And be calm regardless of our situations, just as Jesus was in the boat. That even when everyone else were panicking, He was asleep. And unperturbed. 🙌
And suddenly, behold, there arose a violent storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered up by the waves; but He was sleeping.
Matthew 8:24 AMPC
Do say this prayer together with me:
Lord help me to stay calm, trusting your every move. And give me the grace to live in the certainty that you are never caught unawares even in my situations. And that you are forever unchanging.

When one buys a sim card, one would have to register it under one’s name; giving some information about one’s self. It’s a requirement so that the line is not blocked. 🙂

Ah, I see. So does that feel invasive after being able to get them for free? When they were free, did you still have to pay for the cell service I am guessing? (I have a curious mind about other countries 🙂 )

It’s true, we are living in turbulent times – emotionally, economically, physically, relationally – in every sense. Yet God is bigger and He is still in control, even when everything feels out of control. Your reminder is much much needed and is a breath of fresh air.
