👀 A SECOND LOOK 🧐

Second look

Have you ever had an experience of going to a mall or store, to get a particular clothing or item. And on getting there, you sighted a dress or an item, that caught your fancy or appeared great. But for some reason you walked away to check the other items in the same category. And on getting back to the first item that seemed appealing to you, you realized it wasn’t so great as you earlier thought it was.

This happened to me some days ago. I was on a motorbike when I saw this cloth that was on display and I was like “this looks nice” that I even muttered it. Only to pass by, that same route on my return from where I went to, with some eagerness to give it a second look and pass in peace though. 😂

But on staring at it again, it was like “Hmm, nah, it’s just there”. 🙈

This was the scenario that birthed what we are looking at this week. Take a second look at it!

It’s rather nice to see something for the first time and because it looked so great, we just want to go for it at a instant without even giving it much thought. Without being like me for a second – per analyst. 🙈😆

But really from experience, taking a second look has saved me hot tears. Or that sullen feeling of “I should have given it much thought” 😢

Decision - Second thought

My charge to us today is to let God be our extra eye in that decision. His eyes in this context of a second look isn’t that He is secondary. Instead it is for us to note that beyond the euphoria of getting that item right now before it is put off sale; or going for that business idea before another person ventures into it; or consenting to that relationship because everyone is telling you “He or she is such a great person” shouldn’t make you take that decision without “His eyes” as a mirror to what exactly it is.

I remember sharing with a close friend recently, how God cleared out a particular scenario in my life where it felt like I was the only one missing out on hearing God concerning the issue or better put decision. And eventually His word to me about it was “facade”. Every day since then, I am more grateful I didn’t fall for it.

So what is that decision right now, that seems so nice and has caught your fancy so much that you can’t wait to go for it or even say a yes to it or him or her as the case may be.

My admonition is for you to give it a second look. And in that second look process, take God along with you. Don’t say yes to that juicy offer or make that seemingly “escape route” decision without consulting with God on it.

God - His seeing eyes - Decison

It could be pleasing now but with Him He helps you see beyond the now that you don’t end up with the “facade” – Things that seem so real but in the real sense, it is still just what it is – Fake!

I will leave you with this verse:

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.”

Psalms 32:8 AMP

Remember He is willing to guide you and be your counselor if only you are willing and acknowledge that His way is the best!

“Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP

Blessings to you, dear reader. ❤️

Happy Fulfilling New Month. 💃🏻💃🏻

  2. This relates so well to a decision that my husband and I are trying to make
We’re in the middle of determining whether to make a purchase that would be practical but also potentially pricey. Just yesterday I was encouraged to ask him if he had prayed about it and admitted that I hadn’t
We’re still trying to figure things.put, but this is such a good reminder that God sees the big picture and can be trusted to show us what to do in each situation. Thanks, Mercy!

great post: wisdom for all ages, especially the type of wisdom that young and inexperienced people need to hear and make use of… may GOD guide us so that it will be hammered into our hearts that “not all that glitters is always gold”, especially if one can be patient and take a second, third or even greater look…we need help and the wisdom of GOD who does not see as man sees; man looks at the outward appearance, but GOD looks at the soul…he sees the hidden things
