Have you ever wanted to get something done and while you are getting set to do it; putting everything in place, you were called upon to assist with something and you left it all to attend to it. And by the time you are done assisting, you want to get back to your initial task but you are tired out already and hence have to reschedule it for another time. And there goes your plan sitting on a “waiting list”.
Smiles. I had to first paint an example before we get started on this. In the experience I earlier shared, it was obvious your help was needed and it is good neighborliness to assist with it. But the point where you displaced your task and couldn’t achieve anything on it and because of the “good you showed”, yours took a back bench is where the caution needs to be placed.
Is it good to be good? Oh yes! In fact it is good to spread His goodness in us. Just as we should ask ourselves what will Jesus do in every situation yeah.
But should we all in the name of being good ignore the place of balance? And as a result, His calling or leading or prompting over your life is lying fallow.
The call is for us to know when to draw the line. Jesus was needed at home by His parents but He also knew that it was His call to be at the temple learning. In other to prepare for that which was ahead of Him.
We can’t effectively function in our callings if we pay more attention to what others expect of us. And neglect what He has called you and I to do.
Where do we draw the line between showing others the Love God wants us to express to others without allowing ourselves get caught up in it that it affects His biding for our life?
The answer to that is “the Holy Spirit”.
We are guided just as Jesus was guided and knew when to stay in the Temple because that was what was expected of Him at that time because of the call of God over His life because He was led by His spirit – the Holy Spirit.
Reference text:
“And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it,
And when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.”
Luke 2:43, 45-46 ESV
Jesus was able to draw the balance having being led by His Spirit.
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38 ESV
What is or what has been distracting you from the call of God over your life? Even if it is for a good cause, it’s still displeasing to God. You function best when you are right in the center of His will and counsel for your life.
Again I ask. What is that distraction you need to put away or henceforth learn to say “No” to. So that you are effectively equipped and groomed in the call of God for your life.
May His word dwell richly in our hearts and cause us to live and be at the center of His will and counsel for our lives. Amen!
Blessings. 🙏🏻🤩
P.S: Thank you to all who has been on this journey of blogging and writing with me. Thanks for your comments, likes and shares. I am grateful for you all. God bless you all richly. Amen 🙏🏻

We do have to guard against distractions. We must focus on the Lord and eliminate anything that hinders our walk with Him. Balance is key. And the Lord must be a priority over people. You’re welcome and thank you for your support too little sis. ❤️

It’s all about prioritizing and learning to say no to others. It seems like everyone has a full schedule and are overwhelmed. I don’t have a problem saying no LOL 😄

Haha. I am learning to, myself. 🙋😊
I should show myself grace as much as I want to be of help.

You raise very valid and thought provoking questions.
May God help us as we continue to strive towards paying more attention to our callings rather than what others expect of us.
