🤔 BEING DELIBERATE 🍀

Avatar - Quiet time

Over the last days or weeks or maybe months, I have had to choose between my feelings and His right thing (what God would have me do). Some days it’s a big struggle to choose which one to agree to. I know we always advocate for freedom of expression et al. But the truth about this though is that although it is good to, some days the Lord would have you choose quiet instead of actually being all vocal about what you feel is the needed thing to say at such times.

I am reserved, largely. 😁 But I can be chatty too. I’m learning to take a breather in between the two and just know when to engage the quiet moments of my life to self evaluate and see what next need to be done.

Call me an observer in this case but it helps a lot when we just saliently enjoy our now or transition as the case may be.

Picture you trying to unwrap a gift. I trust that because you are filled with curiosity or anticipation for what is inside the wrap, you won’t mind the time frame you spend to unwrap the layers of that gift. 😊

Anyway back to our subject on being deliberate. I didn’t get to where I am right now on choosing His ways above mine, in a day. Trust that I didn’t either, in weeks but each day I’m learning the steps I need to take and then choose to painstakingly or easily take them (as the season comes). And guess what? I am enjoying the calm that it brings me eventually.

Right Step - Trend - Choice

Let’s look at a reference of someone who was deliberate about the decisions he made.

Do you want to make a guess?

The reference person is Daniel.

I could imagine how he and his friends felt when after they chose to take just water and vegetables over the meat and all the buffet the other captives in Babylon were eating at that time. (Daniel 1: 8-18)

I can only wonder or try to paint a mental picture of how they felt. It might have been odd and who knows if the vegetables were even spiced and all or not and it felt like “geez, this tastes so bland”.

But you know what, regardless of what they might have felt, they chose to continue with this. And guess what? They became legacies in that land eventually and they dined with kings. But that’s because they knew their God and knew His ways and they were deliberate about choosing Him above what their head or mind was saying through how they may have felt about it.

They chose God!

I know we have a lot of decisions to make each day. And one of it is to either respond to how we feel or we choose to breathe through it; maintaining the needed calm in such situations; and trusting that God will aid or guide you through it.

It’s another time for us to choose to be deliberate about our decisions and our welfare/wellbeing and choose God over what our head is projecting as the right thing to do.

I’m learning to as well. And I hope you’ll choose the deliberate acts of faith as well these coming days and just lean towards God and His ways and glean from Him.

Love - footsteps - He empathizes with you

Remember He felt every single thing you’ve felt. And so when He nudges you to do that which your head (human reasoning) or mind (your feelings) is against (just because you are still human and we always want our own way), still choose His way. 🙌🏼

Reference Text:

“For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”

Hebrews 4:15-16 AMP

He’s got you. Knowing that He has felt the way you’ve felt as well. Talk of being betrayed; neglected and without a doubt left to bear the cross all alone. Like heck, His own disciples all ran away leaving only Him to deal the experience by Himself. Even Peter denied Him thrice. How epic! 🥺

“But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and fled.”

Matthew 26:56 AMP

And,

“And Peter remembered the [prophetic] words of Jesus, when He had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly [in repentance].”

Matthew 26:75 AMP

You can trust His ways. It’s time for us to choose His ways just as Moses did. He is always willing to show us His way! 🙌🏼

“He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”

Psalms 103:7 AMP

God bless you. And thanks for taking the time to read this. You are loved by Him.

Do have a fulfilling week. ❤️🤗
