Have you ever been in love? I trust that majority reading this, will say a yes after reading this question. 😊
So yes, we all have experienced that emotion; the energy and influx that lights us up yeah? 🤩
I was reading a Bible text that was written by David, earlier this past week. And it made me smile reading it. Why? Because it speaks love in every way.
Before I reference the text, I want to ask you another question.
The question is – How often do you talk about your love experience with others?
For most of us, we are excited to share this with everyone we come in contact with, that cares enough to listen to us talk about it, over and over again.
We do not get tired of sharing our lover’s story yeah. About what he or she has done that makes them special to us, or what we see in them that makes you blush at the sight of them and how we just love to spend more time with them. Am I speaking your mind on this? 😊😉
So yes, back to David. He shared this message with us and I couldn’t help but share it with us as well.
The text:
“I’ve preached you to the whole congregation, I’ve kept back nothing, God—you know that. I didn’t keep the news of your ways a secret, didn’t keep it to myself. I told it all, how dependable you are, how thorough. I didn’t hold back pieces of love and truth For myself alone. I told it all, let the congregation know the whole story.”
Psalm 40:9-10 MSG
David was so outspoken about God that He wrote most part of Psalms. He even got to a point where He said we should praise the Lord with a shout – “Shout praises to the Lord” etc.
David couldn’t help it, he was a man who knew His God and was soaked up in God’s love.
You’d imagine why some people when praising God can’t help but tear up almost all the time. That’s because when they reminisce about the essence of God in their lives, they can’t help the tears. You know when you have experienced the loud ways of the Lord. I call it loud ways because these experiences are such that announces God. You don’t even necessarily have to start declaring it. Mere seeing it screams “this is God at work”.
Yes our love experiences with God shouldn’t be kept a secret either. God is not some lover that wants to be kept a secret. If He wanted that, He wouldn’t have given us His power and presence in the first place.
The life of Jesus was at no point hidden either. At every point, there were people who wanted to learn about God’s ways and words from Him.
And I believe that is why He has called us Salts and Light. We are called to declare His essence. Not just to our friends, but to everyone.
In most of my discussion with others, I can’t help but reference pray about it or trust God’s ways or seek to know His will. Why? Because it’s in Him that I have a life! And I have been at both sides of the bench – when I lived my own way and on my terms, and when I choose Him and learning to trust His ways each day. And I can say that the latter pays and it is surprise-full!
Let’s take Jesus with us each day and let’s talk about Him. He is our lover and no – He is not in you to be hidden!
““Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 MSG
We are going public with His goodness! Make Jesus your headline, Today and every other day. 😍🕺🏽

God’s love is so evident in my life that even if I tried to hide it, I can’t. When I remember his sacrifice on the cross, I can’t help but get so emotional. What manner of love!!
