🍀 Just because it’s pretty 🌼

Pretty

Smiles. Sometimes I should be more careful of what my eyes sees as pretty and appealing. 🙈

Okay, let’s get to the gist on this. I and hubby went to the market recently and on walking by a store which had all sorts of nuts and biscuits laid out. I stopped by and because I was looking for something new to try out. I went for one biscuit that looked like it had chocolate strips in it. Anyway I asked and I was told it is soy instead. For some reason, I still went ahead with it and got it.

Fast forward to a day after, I wanted to snack on something and I remembered my nicely looking biscuit. It so didn’t look like something I’d hate eating. But that was not the case when I actually ate it.

Pretty on the inside

First it was so hard like it lacked butter and then so salty. I dropped it after I tried convincing myself on the third piece. I tried right. 😂

I just couldn’t take it any longer. 🙈 Anyway welcome to my trying class. To say that I’d would have learned on this “looking pretty” scale of preference for buying things. Phew!

For next time sake. We will ask more precise questions in our quest for trying out new things. 😀

As random as this might seem to us as individuals, we often times get caught in this as well, in our decision making. We see something that looks like “the one” or maybe what we had as description for “the one” on that particular matter and we go for it based on what we feel it is.

But sadly, we end up with a waste still looking pretty. 🥲

I know our eyes has a good judge of things when we see it but we can’t go wrong with the best judge in our decision making process.

Before we go to who the best judge is. I want you to reflect on those decisions you thought was the best for you at that time but phew, it still went south. What would you wish you had done differently?

Would you have chosen His decision instead of yours or would you still go on with what is “sitting pretty” or “looking pretty” to you?

So who is the best judge on all things?

God is and you know why? Because He is the creator of all. So imagine an inventor who happens to have created or made something. He or she will definitely know all about that thing because he formed or drew the sketch of every part of that item that was created or invented.

God’s eyes sees everything

So also God is. He knows the intent of our hearts and everything is within His eye sight. So you can’t go wrong when you make Him your consultant on decisions.

“The Lord can see everything that happens on the earth. He is strong. And he helps those who love him completely.

2 Chronicles 16:9a EASY

I have a verse He reminds me of whenever I’m in a phase and I’m doubting my ability to do it right in that phase or take the right steps. And that verse is:

“Always trust the Lord completely. Do not think that your own wisdom is enough. Remember the Lord in everything that you do. If you do, he will show you the right way to go.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 EASY

All we need to do henceforth is to Acknowledge His expertise in our decisions and choices.

Remember you can’t go wrong when you see through His eyes. 📌

Have an amazing new week. ❤️

You cannot go wrong with the eyes that sees it all – so true Mercy. Like the analogy of the biscuits you gave, sometimes things might look appealing but on experience they are not. The Lord knows. May we trust and rely on Him in all our decisions.
    Blessings to you Mercy.

Mercy, I totally agree with all that you stated. The eyes can be deceiving. Something may look so pleasing but it’s not good for the soul. That why we must always seek the face of God concerning everything. Thank you for sharing your experience. God bless you 🙏🏿.

thought on the beauty of things today and it says a lot about how shallow we are trusting our eyes first and not our mind.

    1. Hmm. I can relate. We always want to go for what feels good to our eyes instead of searching inward – through His eyes. 💯

  7. The manufacturer of a product knows better about the product. God is our manufacturer; the bible is our life manual. When people operate outside their life manual, they malfunction.

I find it humorous that you diss “pretty” as being deceptive while putting such a beautiful picture on the blog! 😂 But as you note, it’s what is on the inside that matters, whether the outside is pretty or nor. Rereading His Needs, Her Needs by Willard Harley right now, and you might find it interesting.
