📍 Starting Out 🚶‍♀️

Starting out

I seem to have a trend for a few years now, when it comes to the first days in the new year. 🤦‍♀️

Last year I remember starting the year and I fell sick twice. It felt like “what’s going on?, I hope this year is going to go on well without another fuss or surprises”. In these moments, the promises I heard from God for the year, somewhat looked bleak in some way. But then I chose to believe. And the year ended on such a great note. Looking back at 2021, it was a year with many unexpected positive turnouts.

This year, I went to bed past 3am on the 1st of January. I was excited about the year but also tired from the long day. I would have expected to wake up better because I stayed in bed for some time to get enough rest. And eventually I woke up late. 🙈

Anyway, I woke up feeling very worried and had anxiety in some areas that was a concern to me.

I did have some bad thoughts that came to mind the last few days of the past year and I prayed about it. But for some reason, it came back. And this time, the level of concern I had on these thoughts was higher than before.

Normally when I wake up, I try to eat something and then go on to have my study. But on this day, I just knew I had to sort this fright out more deliberately than before. So I spent some time praising God. And while I was engaging in this, He spoke to my heart reminding me why those fears weren’t even valid in the first place. And that settled it all. I felt such great calm in my heart and mind.

Stop feeding your fear

Smiles, it’s funny how we give our fears so much power right, forgetting that it is only God that has such great level of power over our lives.

I am thankful I have God and grateful for the blessing of a personal access to Him.

I haven’t had such height of fright or panic in God knows when. Phew!

So yes, the year started out in a way I least expected but I believe it’s a reminder never to lose sight of the one who holds me.

“The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; You hold and maintain my lot.”

Psalm 16:5 AMPC

My evening on that day, ended up with so much praise spree than I would have thought of. I never had this planned out for the day, but one thing led to another and I ended up dancing for hours. And also prayed in-between this. It was a reminder to me that God holds it all together. And there was so much to be thankful for, than for me to spend such time in fear or Fright.

So yes, my conclusion is that, the year has only one choice – to work together for my good and ‘our’ good. 🕺🏽

It’s His word to our hearts and we know that the Lord will make all situations and experiences of ours to sum up to what? – Good!

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

Romans 8:28 NLT

Let that knowing, just as Paul said “And we know…..”, drive your fears afar from you and cause you to focus on the good He has in plan for you this year.

Remember nothing can take away your blessing if the Lord has said so!

Because the Lord has said So

This is one of my testimonies when I reflected on what God said concerning me in my 25th year and it’s all so exact and precise. And whenever I think of these experiences, it gives me the strength to continue to lean forward. Why? Because He has said so!

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself.”

2 Timothy 2:13 AMP
