💭 His Big Picture ✨

Big picture

It is always amazing, when I reflect on the greatness of God. He being so real that one can see Him all around us. It’s so obvious, that you see signs of Him evidently glaring at you, daily.

Few days ago, I was out with hubby and we saw this beautiful duck. The intricacies of the feathers; how the colours though different, matched and made it look so beautiful. The lines were so exact that there was no distortion at all. And there the duck was, floating on water having a cool day, no hassle at all. 😊

And just as these different colours made a perfect fit for the duck, so also there is a grand plan in which we all belong to as God’s creation.

A plan that has been before time. A plan He communicated to us when He first formed man and even affirmed it over the years.

And that plan is simple:

“And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.””

Genesis 1:28 ESV

But before He blessed man and gave us this mandate, He already did something and that was to create us all in His image; His very likeness.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Genesis 1:27 ESV

That from His likeness we all multiply and fill the earth. And with this replication effect, all of God’s aura; His image; His likeness will be revealed. That the earth be filled up with His presence. 📍

You are part of God’s great plan

Hence, while we all look at our individual lives and have this notion that we were created for ourselves, I beg to remind you that you were created to be part of a grander plan.

The same plan Jesus came to earth to emphasize to us:

“that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”

John 17:21-23 ESV

And Finally, Paul made it clearer for us to understand. And it can be found in these verses:

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 18-19, 22, 24-27 ESV

We all are a part of God’s grand plan. Each of us being a part of His body made to function effectively so that His body – the church, may function effectively.

So while we all launch out into our respective callings, we shouldn’t forget the goal – it is to show forth His glory! To reflect the unity of the Trinity in whom we all were created from – “In His image, He created man” (Paraphrased, Genesis 1:27)

It’s a reminder for us to remember who we were created to be and for whom we were created for.

The big ask to us today are these questions:

– Am I functioning as Christ would want me to in His body?

⁃ Is all that I do giving God the glory or myself?

⁃ Am I bringing about the unity of His body or am I all about me and myself?

Created as light of the world

It’s a time for us to reflect and get back to the template for which we were made for. To function in your natural habit (in God) and experience His ease. But trying so hard to disengage from your natural habitat can only lead to many struggles that leads to sorrow.

Just like that duck I saw, reflect the beauty of the different parts of His body to the world. And don’t be afraid to let your light shine so that our world may experience God’s out-spread light. 📍

May His word birth life in our hearts and minds. 🙏🏻

Happy new week, dear friend. 🤗

  3. A beautiful encouragement my friend. Naturally we do have the tendency to turn away from the Lord rather than to Him. But when we keep our eyes on Him He gives us the desire to draw closer to Him

This is amazing my dear sister and friend, this calls for a reflection of who we are in Christ Jesus and the great work of redemption that was completed on the cross of calvary. May our existence on earth always brings honour to our maker (GOD)
