Have you ever had a view on something and even from afar off, you are really thrilled and to make it really interesting but saddening you get closer and you have a different view of the thing in question and you are not so wowed about it any longer.
Let me share one of my experiences, I was out on a particular evening and while on my way back to the house, I saw this gown, OMG, I was thrilled by the sight – it looked beautiful, but ohhh my my, I got a closer look at it and all the shivers went down. I didn’t bother having a second look or let me say a third (if counting from the first) at it. I simply, continued on my route in peace.
So back to the reason why I shared the story. The incidence got me thinking and it was a message for me as well. What if what God brings your way ain’t all pretty on the outside as you would have wanted it to be but amazingly over time, you get to discover the treasures in that thing or being. And have you thought about this too – what if the all pretty ain’t all pretty when you get to know the individual or check out that thing with a much closer look.
We as humans love the pretty, in fact our eyes go all jumpy at the sight of something or someone pretty or handsome or beautiful as the case may be. But we neglect the – what next!. The what next is who is the individual in question that I’m being all jumpy about. What if I give it a bit of time (which is your second look or even a third) just to be sure, would I still get the feeling (the ecstasy) just as the first.
There is this saying of – don’t judge the book by its cover. It’s true in most cases, that you do find out treasures in lives you would have least expected. And for those ones you had great expectations of, Mehn!, you are just so disappointed after a while.
So my charge is why don’t you cast a second look or a third. Why don’t you try your best to give it time. A lot of things get clearer if only we decide to give a chill and be patient through the process of getting to know. Maybe it would have saved you and I a lot of hurts and troubles we did face along our paths in life.
My dear, you don’t have to go through the trouble again. Take a chill and enjoy the cruise, the mist gets clearer each distance covered. At least ask the sailors!. 😁
Do have a peaceful week and take some time off to breathe in some air.. 😅🤗
