In the spirit of love and Valentine’s day which we just celebrated. 🥰
Personally, I would say that there is no better way to celebrate this season of love than to recognize our source who is Love to us.
And who is that source and being, Love?
He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love.
1 John 4:8 AMPC
God is Love and that Love was put into action by Him giving up himself. By taking up the form of flesh (Jesus) to die and bear all of our sins and judgement. Hence He suffered all that we would have suffered. Because according to law, it was the repercussion of anyone who sinned to pay for it. But here, Jesus bore it all hence living us as free men. Whom He calls His own – sons and daughters.
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. [Matt. 8:17.] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
Isaiah 53:4-5 AMPC
Here He bore it all for us. And that is why we are “without condemnation henceforth” (Romans 8:1). Glory!
Today in church, I kept staring at the cross design that was put up. And I kept looking at it, maybe at first because of the colours but it kept making more sense to me from the designer’s concept. That the cross oozes out love and it can go round and it is beautiful.
And I smiled knowing that Abba’s love – which the cross in the design represented, is just that and even more. It continues to ooze out to us. It just never stops. That moment when you think it is completing its circle and ending, it comes up in your face all pronounced that “nay, I am not done with loving you just yet, I still have more for you”.
So while we all celebrated Valentine’s day. It is just never complete without acknowledging the source of love and it is in Him we can love at most.
I will leave us with this verse. I love it so much.
[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
Ephesians 3:19 AMPC
May you and me come to the full realization of His depth of love towards us. For me, it’s ever new and it blows my mind away. I literarily tear up reminiscing about it. God is love and we are empowered to love, because we are connected to Him.

Great post! God demonstrated His love for us by giving His only son for the remission of our sins. I believe love is reciprocal. We can demonstrate our love for Him by obeying His commandments (John.14:21).
