💭 My reflections 👩🏽

My life has different scenery that it sometimes feels like I’m in a movie theater or film house. 😀

Some days it’s all fun and thrilling like an action movie with my hyper activities.

Some days it’s all slow, mellow and has a slice of drama. Can I call it melodramatic? 😅

Just being a tease on that though. 🙈

Some days it’s all on a serious note, and 24 hours doesn’t seem enough but then we move. 😎

Some days I am in my Me-mode and don’t want to be disturbed. I’m just paying attention to what I want at that moment and doing the things I can.

And some days, I am just all out there, wanting to know what’s going on and just be there for the people around me.

Some days I am found tearing up for little things. And at another time, laughing out loud on something that is only funny to me. 🙈

Some days all I can think about is now and I’m so grateful for it that I am found tearing up and being emotional as well. And that is because I realized the seemingly “little” at the time is what I truly need, and I’m emotional at how thoughtful God is about me at every stage and phase.

Some days I am just all fixated on what will happen tomorrow, next week or next month and how things can and should be better already. Phew!

In the drama, the calm, the times in doubts, the days of high expectations, laughter and tearing up etc. I see a constant actor on the scenes of my life’s movie. And that actor is God!

God is our constant in life’s ups and down

Some people have called me “S.U” or “your own is too much”. But then, I know where I’ve been. I know how relentless God is about me. And I am not about to boast any less of the being I’m so much in love with. The one who loves me with a greater love that I can never exhaust. Abba’s girl all the way. 💪🏽🤩

The summation of my life’s story is “The Imprints of God”. And like Job declared in a verse that resonates with me:

“I had heard about you from other people. Now I have seen you with my own eyes.”

Job 42:5 EASY

God I see you!

This year 2021 has been a faith journey for me. And each time, it feels crazy in my head to start what He is leading me to do. But then, God shows up with the needed people at each time, strategically.

I can refer back to His word for the year for me and say that though it seemed insane at first because I like to have a plan. But I’m better for it, choosing to trust His way and His move!

His word was “Trust your every step with me, take each step with me”.

That meant no long term planning because that way I am not caught up in expectations and how I have planned each phase to look like. I was asked to take it a step at a time, trusting Him.

Hence my mantra – “A day at a time”. Those close to me or those I’ve had a conversation with at one point or the other in the year will be able to relate with me saying this often.

Phew. It wasn’t easy at first because early in the year, the pieces of my life were all over the place. But as I took each step with Him, it made more sense as I could see the pieces all come together – one after the other.

I’m happier for choosing His way. I’m more at peace within my heart, and less burdened with much cares and plans.

He leads

A key lesson I learned is this verse –

“For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.”

Philippians 2:13 AMP

God doesn’t only give you a roadmap, He also walks you through that roadmap.

Mercy Oluokun

My testimony is that God can be trusted and He knows what He is doing. I wish I had soaked in all the lessons I have come to learn at a much deeper level this year, in the past years. But then, maybe the message is made for this season. 🙌🏼

Thank you all for being a part of my 2021. Thank you for seeing much more in this small girl and I am just amazed at the way the Lord is leading me. 🙌🏼

Finally, this will be my last post for the year and I’ll be taking some time off in the month of January. I might share some write-ups some time, if He leads me to share anything in-between this break. But I believe it’s a needed break for me to start the year refreshed and ready for the year ahead. ❤️

Happy new year in advance my HCC family. 🎄

Write you soon. 😊

Praise God Mercy! Indeed ABBA’s girl all the way 🥁💃🏿🤗. The scripture you shared in Job 42:5 reminded me of the scripture I read today during my quiet time about how Thomas doubted Jesus. We serve a great God who is worthy of all the praise 🙏🏿. God bless you. Thank you for sharing your story.
