Smiles. Are you wondering what I’m about to write about? Or the “him” in question?
It’s interesting to know that we have allowed or accommodated so many things in our world today, as the norm. Even when we know it’s not what God wants us to do.
It’s been a phase of many reflections for me and truthfully, there is a lot God is teaching me. Some of which He wants me to share with you.
How pleasing it is for God to come and find us all still standing. How delightful it will be to Him, to see us all still on the “light path” and not conforming to the world’s trends.
Some Sundays ago, our pastor spoke on tolerance traps. How we have become comfortable with many things just so that we can fit in. And it just buttresses what God has been opening my eyes to, in our world today. And how darkness keeps spreading and gaining ground because we have Christians blending in.
Light isn’t made to blend in. In fact, I haven’t seen a light source blending in. It stands out! No matter the angle it is placed, it never ceases to shine forth. 💯
There are many things the world will throw at us as Christians. And truthfully, it will increase. Because the devil is also working overtime to bring many to his side.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
1 Peter 5:8 KJV
But we need to be alert of his vices. Don’t be afraid to say No! Even when it doesn’t make sense to many.
And to everyone who loves God enough to say “No” to darkness and sitting still with evil, God will always show up for you. Giving you more courage and help to get through each temptation that the devil brings your way. Hence, you are operating from a stand point of victory by choosing God. 🙌🏼
“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV
So while we celebrate Easter and the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, this season. Let us remember the only service that is pleasing to God is a life given to Him in return. A life of sacrifice, that isn’t swayed by the world’s dictates. Rather, one that has chosen to stick with the God-given life always!
“I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1 AMPC

The choice is still “easy” to make while friends will support us and our nations will not jail us for professing Jesus as our Savior. But the day is coming when it will be very costly, as it is in many countries of the world, to name the Name of Jesus and claim that He is God. We should make the choice now and begin to live as you are calling us, not blending in, but standing out as lights to the world!

Thanks for this beautiful reminder my dear sis. Religious beliefs, values and standards are shifting ooo… And the devil is really doing a lot to make us feel this shifts is necessary in order to blend in to what’s in trending… For me, this is a call to order. I receive strength to stand out and not blend in in Jesus name, amen.
