Smiles, are you curious of what I’m about to write? 🙂
Okay, let’s get to it. 😊
One of the mornings this past week, I had a heart to heart talk with Abba (God). And this was one of the discussions we had, which I believe is a message beyond me but one for us all.
Mind you this post isn’t for people bearing this name alone. Just in case your name is “Inioluwa” or “Inijesu” as the case may be. 😁
When we say the sinner’s prayer and commit to accepting Christ, there is something that happens that most of us know about but for some reason, we tend to forget or have forgotten.
What happens in this moment is that there is an exchange in us. Our lives becomes replaced with the life of Christ in us.
As Paul mentioned:
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20 ESV

The word I used as the theme – Inijesu, is a name in Yoruba and one I also bear. But the reality of this word isn’t for only those bearing this name but for us all as Christians.
We are called to be His true reflection. 📍
Have you being to someone’s house and the type of decor in it tells you a little about them? For some, there are different Disney images and stickers. And for another, it’s plants and flower decor all over. And for some, different animals or pet pictures. 🤔
This is how our lives ought to be, if we truly are in Christ, and we believe we have taken up Christ in us. Then our lives should daily and steady reflect who He is and stands for. 📍
It’s time for us to reflect on our personal walk in God thus far. A time for us to ask ourselves this simple but crucial question: Have I truly been reflecting Christ or myself?
Have I been showing myself? as they say. 🙂

It is time for us to choose to be lights, as we have been called His possession because we were made to be His very reflection!
May His word to us today yield it’s fruits in us and become life in you and me. 🙏🏻
I’ll leave us with this verse:
“Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop?”
Matthew 5:14 TPT
Let’s pray:
Father, teach us to be your true reflection and representation here on earth. That in turn, we light up the world. 🙌🏼
And may we be responsive to your call for us to shine our light. Amen. 🙏🏻
You are loved by God, dear friend.
Happy new week. 🤗

In as much as bearing the name alone does not connote reflection. But I still believe that names have something to do with destiny. Simon was changed to Peter; Jacob was changed to Israel; Saul was changed to Paul. All these characters had their names changed to fulfill their assignments in life.🙂

Yeah. Hence the need for one to carefully consider the names we bear.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. 🤗
Wishing you an amazing Friday, bro. 🙏🏻

I think it is attributed to Francis of Assissi, though of dubious accuracy, “Preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words.”
However, it IS necessary many times to use words.
Keep preachin’, sister!

Beautiful name. Love the home analogy. Truly, as ambassadors of Christ, our life should reflect Him and represent His word.

Amen. Thanks for sharing your faithful witness. Paul’s verse from Galatians 2:20 stirred Martin Luther to expand upon this Great Exchange. Grace be with you.
