Faithfully Planted

Last week’s post was about us being rightly positioned. And it was a good reminder for us to know that God has given us all we need to flourish right where we are, at the moment.

This week is a build-up from last week’s post.

The question I will like to ask us, myself inclusive is this – Are you faithful where you are planted?

I know we all have our desires to be at certain positions, or even live in a certain territory. And we feel it’s only then that we will be able to carry out all God has been nudging our hearts to do.

But I believe He is asking you and I today – How have you maximized your current provision and position?

Maximize your current position and provision

We remember the parable of the talent in the Bible yeah. 👇🏼

“To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.”

Matthew 25:15-18 ESV

They all had something committed to them. But the servant with the 1 talent went ahead to hide his. I believe he was waiting for the time, the “more” will be committed to him.

But the master taught him a great lesson – that the 1 talent he had, though the smallest allocation of the three servants, yet it was capable of yielding fruit and increasing as well.

““But his master answered him, ‘You wicked, lazy servant, you knew that I reap [the harvest] where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter seed. Then you ought to have put my money with the bankers, and at my return I would have received my money back with interest. So take the talent away from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’”

Matthew 25:26-28 AMP

Sadly, this servant was blinded to the potentials the 1 talent he was given, possessed. And he lost it all. 😌

I pray that we won’t lose sight of what God has blessed us with right now, even as we anticipate the “next”. 🙏🏻

Personally, I have learned to walk in my current, knowing who I can be – I like to be aware of what could happen beyond my present. But God has really taught me to bring my head back to my present. 🤣

And really, I have been better for it. 🙌🏼

Food for thought

Dear friend, while you anticipate another position or another location to function at your best, are you faithfully serving where you are planted right now?

Dear church worker, you want to become the lead or team head to function better. But how have you been serving in your current position as a unit member?

To you dear husband, have you been faithfully serving your home with what God has given you, while you desire the more?

To you dear wife, have you been faithful in building that home God has given you?

To you dear child, while you are complaining of what your parents are not doing right. Have you searched your heart to know if you have been faithful in your role as a child (son/daughter) to your parents?

To you who wants a better location to function, how best have you been a positive influence where you are right now? And have you been a light that isn’t hiding out, or are you hiding out like the servant that hid his 1 talent? 🤔

To you dear minister, you desire more gifts of the spirit. But while the desire is good, how best have you engaged and used the gifts He has given you already? His gifts are not trophies to hide out in the corner of your room. You were made to shine your light and influence your world!

The truth is this, while I look back at the stretch seasons of my life. I call them “stretch” because they weren’t easy on me. But these seasons have grown me to be who I am today. And mind you, I am still growing and being stretched!

Finally, let’s check our hearts and evaluate ourselves. Yes, We are all in the growth phase. But this is a message for us all, myself inclusive. 📍

I’ll leave you with this verse: 👇🏼

““For to everyone who has [and values his blessings and gifts from God, and has used them wisely], more will be given, and [he will be richly supplied so that] he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have [because he has ignored or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God], even what he does have will be taken away.”

Matthew 25:29 AMP

May the Holy Spirit expand His words in our hearts. (Amen) 🙌🏼

You are loved dear friend. 🤗

P.S:

I celebrate all men reading this – those who are fathers already and potential fathers. 😊

I pray that you will be the kind of father that delights the heart of the Father – God! (Amen)🙏🏻

First- I love when you post a picture of your smile 🙂
It is important to be faithful where we are and with what God has given us not out of motivation to get more of something but rather to glorify our Savior 🙂

  2. Great post, Mercy! I actually just finished a Bible study about a similar idea–about those “in between” times. Your post is a good reminder to all of us to be faithful in our times of waiting and also in the little things. Thanks for the encouragement to do so!
