Have you met a good marketer before?

Okay I have – I worked with some for some years and trust me they can make you buy or get things you don’t even need.

They are so good at it, they will find a way to make you see that it’s a need not a want. 😁

But then, I know some of us don’t like being out there in the public eye or even put ourselves out there at all. And maybe for some, you feel marketing is not for you.

All well and good, it was this same thought process that led me to this reflection I am sharing with you. 😊

I was just about to get to sleep and I was processing some thoughts that came to my head. One of which made me tell myself again – “marketing is not for me”. And then He reminded me that marketing is really what we do daily. 💡

So this is it, we all try our best to portray a good behavior when we meet with other people. That is some form of marketing. You are portraying yourself as a particular brand. 📍

Then also we all have this word we use nowadays – Personal branding. And that’s because there is a unique value to you as a person – your identity. And that right there is what you put out there for others to see. 

But really, beyond all these. He brought a verse to mind that made me see that we have been called to market something even bigger than us. And that is “His light”. 

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

Just as a city set on the hill can’t be hidden. It just can’t! So also we can’t afford to keep the knowledge of Christ that we have, or the gospel of salvation to ourselves. We have to get it out there hence the great command for us all to “Go…”.

A marketer goes out to find new clients and also pay courtesy visits or calls to an existing client. 

We are part of something bigger. Your personal branding should include your creator – God.

All product, no matter the size has the manufacturer’s name and location. 

I believe we are God’s ambassadors. His sales representatives.

Let’s get the word out there – God is love and Jesus is our savior. 🙌🏼💃🏼
