Winter Days Are Not Hopeless Days 💭

Hello,

Happy New Year to you and your family.

I hope you are doing well? (And have been well) ❤️

Below is what I want to share with you.👇

On a Sunday morning, I was looking out through the window of the bus I was in.

I kept staring at the trees that were planted in a row by the side of the bus lane. I caught sight of the truck of a particular tree.

It had this weird swelling at a part and my curious self kicked in.

There I was wondering—“What could be happening to this tree internally, for it to be this swollen on the outside?

I decided to focus on the trunk of the other trees as my journey (sitting in the bus) continued.

I saw that the other trees didn’t have that swelling. However (emphasis on this) they didn’t look pretty either. 🤔

Then I thought to myself—“Trees do not look beautiful!” 😲

Then I began wondering why I would have thought that in the first place, because I do love nature—plants, trees, flowers, everything in it.

But something about these trees I was looking at, told me a story. And although, outwardly these tree weren’t looking pretty, yet they had a bold story. 📍

Tell your story | Image

Here is the bold story

These trees have stood the test of time.

They have weathered different seasons—harsh seasons (like the winter season’s cold); cozy like the Spring or Fall’s season; and the warmth of the Summer time.

But despite these inconsistent seasons that hit these trees. Which most times happens to them suddenly—yeah they don’t have access to calendar or clocks like we humans do. So they can’t keep track of it. 😁

….these trees are still keep standing strong. Weathering it all!

That is their bold story.

Trees at winter time | Image

So these trees might not be pleasant looking. Especially at this time of the year where their greenery and colour (from the leaves and flowers) are completely out of the picture.

But these trees are survivors who still stand gallantly in these harsh times.

How does this connect to you and I?

Maybe you have experienced or experiencing a difficult time at the moment of reading this post. And just maybe it does feel like that harsh cold 🥶 in the winter season.

Maybe you feel like there is a lot pressing down on you. 😢

You don’t have to carry on that burden all alone. The same God who keeps these trees alive—standing strong in the challenging seasons, is able to keep you. And even do for you, much more!

Laying a foundation | Image

I invite you to let Him (God) be your strong base. Because He is that sure foundation that never fails in all season of one’s life—rainy days or stormy days.

You have an offer to keep standing strong through it all! 👇

““So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭GNT‬‬ | YouVersion Bible

And God is promising you, dear friend, His unending rest. All you need to do is “COME to Him”. 👇

““Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭GNT‬‬ | YouVersion Bible

May you find rest in Him and not wither away in the storms of life.

P.S:

If you would like me to pray with and for you on anything. Please feel free to reach out or leave it in the comments.

Until next time. Please take care. 🫂

  3. Happy New Year, dear sister. A friend of mine is in prison for a crime he did NOT commit, but due to perjury by his former business partner. Please pray for Doug, and for me as I am going to write a letter to the judge in support of him. Although it seems he has exhausted his appeals, I am praying my letter will move the judge to reconsider his motion for a new trial.

In the meantime, may you write what is needed. And may what you write move the hearts of everyone concerned, to have compassion for him. (Amen)

Please extend my greetings to the family.

Little sister I thought of Psalm 1:3 as I read your post- That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.
