I was clueless about what I was supposed to write on, for this week and while I was having my time out one of the days, this theme came to mind.
Truly, our homes need God’s intervention and healing. There is so much chaos in our present age even more than the past years. So, yeah I grew up seeing all sorts in some homes I had around me. And although I wasn’t clear on how it was meant to be – model wise because I was young, etc. I still knew there were some wrongdoings ongoing, which made me dread getting married for a long time. Until God took me through different dealings to shed that weight off.
Now imagine the number of individuals who were also exposed to the unpleasant scenery of such while growing up too. And the baggage they would still be carrying with them if they are not sensitive enough to see how much, those experiences – indirectly and directly have cost them.
It is time for our generation today to be very intentional about this institution – marriage. This has been impressed so much on my mind these past days. There are so many wrong things ongoing and all looking like “it” – the model. Because culture and individual beliefs have been the crux of this institution for a long time. Thank God we now have access to God – through Christ Jesus. So we know better, the model He wants us to focus on. And yes only the model in God is the “it” – the perfect model. Because it all started with Him.
Let’s take a quick detour.
Do read this verse:
Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him–a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.” Then Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman Because she was taken out of Man.” For this reason, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed or embarrassed.
Genesis 2:18, 23-25 (AMP)
Please read carefully these texts and meditate on them. Here, God saw it wasn’t good for man – “he”; “Adam” to be alone so He made woman – Eve. And These two according to God’s view becomes “ONE” (unified) and were “NAKED” – transparent; with no secrets!.
But instead what do we have today – lies, betrayals, disunity, arguments, wars, violence, anger outburst, no empathy whatsoever, etc. I can’t even start counting and stating it all out. It aches my heart and its really saddening. To my friends, I do say, “we can’t afford to get it wrong – maritally” really. Because there is a stake on us, each one of us as God’s seeds, so we have to get it right!. Have you tried pondering on, why we have more armed robbers, pilferers, rapists, bandits, tugs, etc. today than in the years past. It’s because of the decadence in homes: as this is increasing, it is likewise oozing out the rottenness into society.
The Bible that stated children, being “Arrows” know why yeah. If an arrow is blunt and not well fitted or bent, it would miss its target and may end up striking a wrong target, etc. While you are reading that, picture an Archer who is not well trained and how he shoots his arrows. Oh my! – trouble is about to be unleashed when such a person tries to. But when he or she becomes well trained and fit, he or she shoots well and it definitely hits the intended and right target!.
Do read this verse:
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.
Psalms 127:4 (AMP)
So yes it’s a call to ARISE AND SHINE for each home and even homes that will be established in the long run. For those already in the institution – marriage, you are a stakeholder in ensuring the kingdom of God here on earth is prevalent and fully manifesting. Enough is enough let’s get back to work and go to war against the status quo in this institution.
Enough is enough!. We shouldn’t just pray and not act on it. See as we pray, God MINISTERS what we need to get done to achieve this desired peace, calm and love in our homes, and if we don’t ACT on His directive, we just continue to wail and wish and nothing changes. Pray yes – 💯 I do believe so much in prayers but then I believe in being “intentional” too. Push yourself, in fact, let God drive you, you will be amazed at how much healing our world today will encounter if only every home would rise to their call and purpose. He is calling out to us today.
To the “about to wed” or singles, please take it seriously from now. Yes intercede for the established homes but likewise, intercede for yours too. Don’t be caught unawares and don’t let your life just happen. I believe with God we can cause a change.
This is a movement!!!!
Let’s all arise and ACT even as we PRAY!!!!

Great post little sister! Families are in need of prayer. God’s plans are perfect but of course the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Prayer is needed for marriages and single parent homes too. 🙏🏿❤️

The family/home is key to the overall well-being of the individual and the society at large. There is therefore a need to pay particular attention to it – being intentional, proactive, sensitive and prayerful in fostering it. Like you rightly said, while one can/should pray for established homes, there is a greater need for those aspiring to begin to work towards the kind of home they desire.

I love this post. It’s a beautiful reminder that God created marriage with a purpose in mind! We can’t leave them unprotected due to not praying and expect good results. Our enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy. Satan hates marriage because it was created in the image of our Creator. We must be praying and fulfilling the purpose intended. ❤
