🧩 The missing word 🌼

Missing word

I was having my study some days ago and on reading one of the stated study verses, in some way it contradicted what I knew about that teaching. It felt off, like “maybe this is a typo”. And then later on, I thought to myself that there is a missing word in this. 🤔

So I checked other versions to confirm this. Gracefully, these other versions were better phrased and I could relate with it.

Still curious on what could have happened to the first version I read, I went back to it and guess what? There was no missing word. What happened was that my eyes skipped the last word “behind”. It’s still funny how I skipped that particular word. 🙈

Now it made more meaning to me and I could relate to it. You know, I was just pondering on how just one word could have taken me from a point A to a Z. Thank God for other versions I could engage with. 🙌🏼 That hence, prompted me to revisit the verse.

The fix

The same applies to the Holy Spirit in our study engagement or in life generally.

He is the “one” who makes us understand God’s plans and purpose for our lives at each stage and phase.

Imagine if we didn’t have Him present with us. Then our lives would make less meaning just as that verse was, when I read it without the last one word.

The Holy Spirit is our everyday life saver. We will be missing a lot, if we displace Him in our everyday living.

“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.”

John 14:26 AMPC

May we acknowledge and partake of the blessing of His person in our lives. (Amen) 🙏🏻

  8. In John 16:12, there are many things that Jesus wants to tell us, but our brains can not pick them all up at once. For this reason, he promised to send the Holy Spirit to teach us all things (all things, including our business and career). The Holy Spirit will always have something to say, but only if we can listen and obey, because He doesn’t speak to a deaf ear. Lovely post!

Thankful for His small still voice. Interesting to me that God used the very words, “small still voice”, to describe someone that we would be lost without. How often I fail to listen to that voice because my opinion is loudest in my ear. Thankful that He is persistant also. Lovely post.

Haha. That’s so true. It means we need to be very attentive enough to hear His wisdom at every state and stage. 🤔

  10. I would marvel at times how God Holy Spirit would shed light to the verse I read and its meaning dawns on me. That is one of the inspiring moments and really great moments for me when I read the Bible..Without the Holy Spirit, we truly cannot comprehend what the Lord wants to teach us and correct us.🙏♥️
