πŸ™‡πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ Choosing To Rise UpπŸ§πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Rise up

On a particular afternoon, my stomach was having a mind of its own and in the process, I felt tired. But I had earlier planned to finish a design attempt I was working on that same day. In the process of working on the task, using my laptop, the battery got low. And before I knew it the laptop went out, so I had to plug-in the charger.

I got up from where I sat and went towards the extension box that was on the floor. So yeah I needed to bend down. And down I went and guess what? 😁

After I had plugged-in the laptop charger, I felt more relaxed and my stomach felt better in that posture of squatting and for some reason, I didn’t want to get up. At least not immediately because I felt some sort of comfort in that position. πŸ™ˆ

Phew! The back and forth went on in my head, with the decision to either stay in that position or to get back up. Finally, I told myself I had to get up. And this I did with much resistance because of how I was feeling at the time.

When I got back to where I sat down to continue my task for the day, it occurred to me that I could have chosen to squat there and hence delay the time I had to finish what I was supposed to do. So, choosing that seemingly short time comfort would mean delaying what I needed to do. And I just might not get it done eventually. πŸ˜€

Will you choose to stay down or rise up

I found this scenario relatable to what happens with us. We are so keen about what we are used to or what is convenient for us or even comfortable that we lose sight of the more that we need to be doing at that time.

This year comes with a challenge for me to see beyond my now or what has been or I have achieved and strive to do more. And that is something I am grateful for. Because there is more in us and around us than what we have allowed ourselves to be exposed to.

We can either choose to squat and enjoy the temporary comfort and get nothing done or we can choose to in-spite of how we feel or how our head thinks, choose to rise up and push forward. πŸ’ͺ🏽

There is more to you

Forward is the way for us as God’s children. Because in the path forward, there is a light that shines brighter and brighter as the walk progresses.

β€œBut the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].”

Proverbs 4:18, AMPC

Don’t lose sight of what you can become because of the temporary comfort you are enjoying right now. πŸ“

Mercy Oluokun(Amande)

More lies ahead and this happens when you choose to rise up and push forward!

Blessings.

Happy new week to you dear Friend. πŸ€—

A good reminder Mercy. So true that comfort can keep us from rising up and pushing forward, we have to be cautious of that.
    Blessings to you πŸ’™

Beautifully written. That temporary comfort will become permanent if we let it. Rise up and keep moving forward. πŸ€—πŸ™β€οΈ

“For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.”
Those are good steps in which to walk.

I love this post. I love comfort too. But I love more being in His will and His will for ones life is not always comfortable. The best lessons are those learned in the uncomfortable. They stick to our soul and others notice that. My daughter told me a few weeks ago she has been encouraged watching me go through my last health trial. It was my assurance that God would not take me home till He was ready for me, He is building me a house and it must get finished before I get there. Putting our faith in the finished work of Christ give us courage to face what ever comes. Good post.

Convenience and comfort can definitely cause us to not walk in God’s purposes. Anything of substance will usually require us to be challenged and get out of our comfort zone. Thanks for the encouragement to rise up!
