I was reading a Bible plan and it spoke about the fear of God. It shared on how amazing God’s love is, that the fear of God is meant to draw us near to God, rather than it driving us away from Him.

I couldn’t help but brood on these words and I eventually smiled. I was filled with so much gratitude because this is true and real.

Have you seen a father who claims to love a child but yet so terrifying in his ways, that his child can’t even approach him?

Well I have seen and heard of some examples, in my few years of living. And maybe that’s why I am always more thankful for the kind of Fatherhood God shows us. The very example and landmark of being a father, that He has set for us.

Thinking about God’s love leaves me with gratitude for who He is, and how great His love is towards us. His love is so much that our past wrongdoings and recent missteps can’t stop His love from flowing towards us as His people.

One of the verses that reminds me of how endless His love is towards us, is this:

“That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!”

Ephesians 3:18-19 AMPC

Hmm! When I think of God’s “why” of giving us His son. It crossed my mind or let me say I was inspired to write to you and also bear it in my mind, that He did this for us so that we never lack His love.

He allowed the one who lives forever to come forward to take up the cross for us all. He allowed Himself, because Jesus is God in flesh to us. He allowed Jesus to go through what we would have gone through for us to know that He is here to stay!

“IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6.] And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. [Isa. 40:5.]”

John 1:1, 14 AMPC

It’s like an imprint placed before us stating this: “Dear daughter or son, I am never loving you less. And my love overflows over you, so much that I am giving you a part of me that signifies ‘Endless’”

“Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).”

Hebrews 13:8 AMPC

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and Forever right? Yes, He is! And God knows this hence He allowed His love to be channeled through Christ unto us.

It is amazing at how thoughtful God is towards us, right? He is that father that long before we were born or even thought of being conceived, He had scripted every step of our lives to work together for our good.

“Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.”

Psalm 139:16 AMPC

I am amazed at the fatherhood of Abba. The word “Abba” is personal to me. Because I questioned the role of having a father in one’s life many times I lost count of it. Phew!

But knowing God has reset this doubts. And more than that, it has answered the many questions of “why this and that?” that I had. He has shown that He is more than my expectations of an earthly father. He is everlasting to us so when I think of limitations and all, that an earthly father could ever have, He is not even bothered by such limitations because He is incapable of falling into that category. Because He is God. 🙌🏼

He even went further to bring it home for us and told us that if an earthly father can do this and that, why won’t He, who is our Heavenly Father do much more. And you know why He can do more? It’s because He is endless!! The only God who is the “beginning and end”Himself. Hence limitations that will ever arise is known to Him and hence can’t be limited by it.

A professional or expert in a known field can never be cornered by a difficulty in that field that he or she can’t figure out, because it is his or her area of expertise.

Amazing right? His love never ceases to amaze me too!

If you are still in doubt of how much God loves you after reading this, I believe it’s a call for you to choose to believe who He has said He is to you. Not who anyone else who is human has been to you or has promised and failed you in, but who God says He is!

You are loved. You are Abba’s chosen and He cares that much and even more for you. ❤️
