⭐️FINDING IT HARD TO LET GO? 💭

Find it hard - let go

Letting go is something we all are not so receptive of. It’s not a familiar phenomenon to the human mind. And trust me, it makes it hard because your mind and your head are constantly on a war when it comes to this.

We hardly ever think of what is needed for us to let go of. But we find it so easy to dwell on thoughts that seek to acquire/ get more.

How often have you thought about things or people you need to let go of, so that you can travel light for your next phase or journey.

Motion - Travel light - Freedom

And by letting go here, it is you letting go of every ill that, the person or people may have done to hurt your feelings.

How often do we ponder on what to let go of?

How easy has it been for you when it comes to letting go?

Is it even a thought that comes to your mind at all?

Phew! It’s not easy you say. But we know that we have an helper in us that enables us to let it all go. Because when we let go, we are indirectly cleaning up those dusts or cobwebs, and making your heart a lot more accommodating for His indwelling in you.

Let’s paint a mental picture. Imagine you are being housed in a room, or given a room that is full of cobwebs and dusts, but also well furnished. Would you say yes to staying in such a room? Or will you request for it to be properly cleaned out first before moving your bags in.

The same is what we are constantly doing when we refuse to let go. We are saying God it’s okay for you to stay in a room (my heart) that is full of cobwebs and dusts (all shades of revenge and unforgiveness).

Heart space - House God

It’s time for us to picture the act of letting go as our lifestyle. Over the past weeks. I have been met with offenses that largely before now, would have made me take a long detach from the offender, just because I don’t want a repeat of such. But hey, I either just talk about it and afterwards I laugh about it and then remind myself that “they are humans after all”

Your heart space is beyond you and if you come to this understanding, you’d do better to guard your heart space and by guarding, you are ensuring that you learn to let go!

Again, it’s not by our own will alone, but because we are divinely helped to achieve this and more. 🙌🏼

Struggling to let go?

You have a God who not only recognizes how that experience made you feel but is also willing to help you through those episodes.

“For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.”

Hebrews 4:15 AMPC

And hey!, stop allowing the devil feed you with that lie that you are doing the fellow or people more harm by holding them in your heart.

It’s a lie and Jesus knew better hence the reason why He prayed for us even after all He experienced, up until His crucifixion.

“And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them. [Ps. 22:18.]”

Luke 23:34 AMPC

May His word enlighten our hearts. (Amen)🙏🏻

I really like the analogy of the room filled with cobwebs. We would immediately want to get rid of them but in life we don’t always let go that easily or immediately. Thank you for this reminder Mercy.

This is a great reminder. As we closer the second quarter of 2021 and are reminded that God runs our lives, we have to obey him. Forgiveness is not optional and only the Holy Spirit can gift us with the gift of forgiveness and loving difficult people. God is so good to us. Thank you for the reminder.

“It is crazy to me that it is perfectly normal to be a Christian in America and to be obsessed with staying alive.” Francis Chan, February 7. 2020
Now we are the people of LIFE, not death, but Mr. Chan notes correctly that too many are obsessed with holding on to THIS life, and fail to recognize NOTHING can separate us from the love of God, not even death of this old body. I want to be willing to even let go of this earthly life if Father has a better plan. Pray for me. Thanx for your wonderful blogs, dear sister.

A great reminder to let go of the old and embrace the new things God wants to do in our lives. We often hold onto the pain of the past, but instead we should receive God’s forgiveness and healing to live abundant lives now and in the future. Thank you! 🥰

    1. Apt! If we don’t let go, we won’t receive His new. And if we don’t let go of our past, we won’t enjoy the present and future. 🙌

  13. We often really need to know when and how to let go off issues with people, knowing fully well that holding unto them only burdens the heart. I’m sure you want your heart free as much as it can – so, talk about it and let it pass.

Also, we must learn to let go of people, certain persons who just must go… Irrespective of how long you’ve bonded

Remember, if it’s causing you your peace, it’s too expensive to keep. Just let am waka pass

    1. Yeah! Talk about it and let it pass. 📌

So true! Not all relationships are meant to be held on to, forever.

Yes!! We need to guard it well.

Thanks for your comments, bro. 🤗
